I would start at 7.5 and go up and see how the bow feels at the shot.Sweet spot should be in between 7.5 and 8.5.

I had a Dale Dye bow. Shooting characteristics are pretty much like any other recurve but I do remember it was well balanced and pleasant to shoot. That same bow still lives up the road about four miles from my house and the owner still shoots it. Mine was around 8" brace more or less.

I always start my recurves at 8 to 8 1/2.

I've only owned one but it was the most dead-in-the-hand recurve I have ever shot. I loved the grip and it seemed to point very well. Just a little too much weight and I had too many bows so I sold it. Pretty sure I'll end up with another some day.

A Dale Dye bow has the same brace height as any other bow. And that's the brace height that the arrow tunes best.

I agree on the mid 7s. I have just the one bow but have limbs for a 64" and a 60" setup. I was really surprised how quiet the bow was at 7 1/4". I bumped it up to 7 1/2" just to see if there was much difference. There wasn't.

I have 2 and 3 set of limbs from 58” to 60” very quiet at 7-1/2”

For those of you that don't know, Dale has retired from bow making. He finished his last bow about a month ago. A great bowyer.

I'm sorry to say the one I had I didn't like. I paid big bucks for a used bow that was snake wood that's why I bought it.

It actually was the 1 rst bow I ever had out of hundreds of sticks I didn't like shooting it and I sold it. I lost a couple hundred but sold it just the same it was a one of kind in snake wood and special edition too but just because it was beautiful it didn't want to stay home in the stable.

The horse was uncontrollable for me so I let her loose to someone else to see if they could ride.LOL

Nothing against dale bows it just wasn't for me this one.

Well shot it bunch today in the garage basically just to tune it. Using pretty old arrows from Kustom King that are carbon arrows I bought probably more than 20 yrs ago. Fletching still good on them. Anyways can't find fault with it or the Savage River t/d I bought. Just 2 very nice recurves. Can't tell much about speed from 10yds or so but both are pretty darn quiet and no recoil to speak of. I think I lucked out with them, negotiating on a JET longbow I hope to pick up when the fella gets back from hunting. That is what I really want truth be told. At heart I am a longbow shooter but pretty happy with the recurves! keepem sharp
