Ive written a couple reviews on the black hunter bow. Forget the black hunter bow. What ya see here is a deadly in the hands bow. Black hunter riser converted to ILF, with xxl longbow limbs. This, now, is 1 sweet rig. 64",35#, armadillo killin machine. Shooting 388 grain beman 600s.

Really been wanting to get one of those bows. Never thought about converting to ilf. Can u post pictures of the limb connection

The riser would work just as well using if for bolt on limbs of various makes I suspect.

Thanks, that looks great. When I get some extra money I was planning on getting one. Don't know if I have the mechanical skills or tools to convert to ilf though. My main hang up about getting the bow is that it is 60" and I'm used to "long" longbows. I'm afraid the finger pinch will be more than I'm willing to put up with.

When in doubt, dont but 1. Ive learned that lesson the hard way....so many times.

Where do you get those limbs?

These are 1 of a kind custom built by Dave Lint of woodshed longbows, who also converted my riser.

Shawn, how long is your draw? You may not notice much pinch on a 60" recurve if it's under 28/29. Best way to find out is try one.

Mr Stout. My draw length on a bow with that type of riser would be close to 29 inches. And never been much of a recurve guy. I would want the Lb limbs, vs the recurve limbs. I have had a 60" r/d longbow and a 58" it's been years, but I think i got rid of them because of pinch. Not necessarily because my draw length is so long, but probably more because I usually shoot 68" or 70" asl, or English longbows. Shortest I ever liked in a r/d is 66" which seems to be the sweet spot for that type of bow for me

I've got a Black Hunter coming hopefully today. I just may look into doing this conversion also. Bosen sells long longbow limbs for $119. They might make a nice combination. They also sell a pretty nice ILF handle to boot

I will shoot the Black Hunter the way it is first and see. I have heard they draw well out to 30 inches. I don't draw that much anymore but this bow has my interest perked. I looked at the equivilent at Denton Hill and was very impressed with the quality and the handle was very confortable. I'll let you know what I think after a few arrows leave the string.

I made 50-60 recurves and longbows over the years. I can't buy the components for what these bows sell for. I don't know how they do it. If they get hit with the tariffs, that may all end. More to come after the bow arrives.

Dont get me wrong, the black hunter is great as is. But im hooked on ilf, and like to leave my options open.

My New Black Hunter showed up today. Fit and finish are excellent. It has been raining hard all day so no chance to shoot it yet. The handle is really comfortable and it draws very smooth to my 29 inches. This is a really nice bow. I see there is one for sale in the classifieds with both recurve and longbow limbs if anyone is interested. I'll post more after I shoot it. - jwingman

I have been out shooting with my new Black Hunter longbow and this bow is really something. The quality and fit and finish are excellent. The handle is very comfortable and the bow draws very smooth to my 29 inches. I have spent allot more on bows and received allot less than this bow provides. I think they are going to sell a bunch of these bows. This will be my hunting bow for this season. Good luck to everyone. Season is open in most states by now so good shooting to all. jwingman
