Looking at a 60" Stewart recurve. Wondering if they will handle a 29" draw with ease? Are they a smooth and quiet bow? Do they have good speed etc? Any other info would be helpful. Looking at the one piece model. Thanks, Bob

Can anyone help me out here?

That's a bow that's on my bucket list as well. I've never seen anything but positive remarks about their performance.

Bob, I would call Leon directly about the draw length. He's a super nice guy and will shoot straight with you. He had one at Denton Hill but I didn't shoot it. His R/D longbows are top notch - smooth, quiet, fast and extremely dead in the hand. I can't imagine his recurves are not up to his high standards. Good luck. Jeff

Bob, Are you talking Leon or Bill Stewart? I have a Bill Stewart TD that I love to shoot. Very smooth and fast. I have a 29 1/4" draw and it is smooth as silk. I can't imagine a Stewart not being smooth whether it is a one piece or three piece TD.

That being said if I had the opportunity to buy one I would jump on it.

I only draw 27.5 but my LS is a great shooting bow. Very happy with it.

I do not have that one, BUT I am lucky enough to have bought two reflexdeflex longbows. One is a 2 piece takedown and the other is a one piece. They are outstanding, and I would never sell them. Get his work while you can. Just sayin

I was with Craig and will attest to the impressive performance. Really good looking bow too.

And I was right across from Leon's table listening to the oohing and aahing going on...It was turrible...just turrible. ;)

Leon made me a short longbow this Spring. I would post pics but site won't let me. Very nice bow, good man to deal with, I am pleased. Unfortunately, I don't have a long draw so I can't comment on stacking. It is the lightest bow I've ever held in my hand. Jim

Leon made a 60' one piece receive for me in 1995. It was osage under clear glass with a coco bola riser. I shot it and only it for 17 years before I broke it because of pilot era and not any engineering issue. Im sure if there was not such a large following for his longbow and there was more current interest in 50s style recurves, he would keep making them on speculation for show events. Grab that bow while you can! TLM

Here is another look

I shot the same 1 pc that Leon had at Denton Hill and monkeyball shot. I have 2 of his slammers and a third on order. Best long bows i've ever owned and I have owned several. That 1 pc he had performed great with 500 spine gold tips. The bow was quick and quiet with absolutely no vibration. I draw 28 in and I know that bow will be fine past that. Would have bought it if I didn't already have another longbow ordered. You better buy it ruintfletch.

I never shot any of his recurves but shot countless #’s of Leon’s other bows and they all are great shooting bows. He built me 64” Slammer with yew/boo limbs and bolivian rosewood riser...what a beauty and great shooting bow. Leon is a great guy and man can he build a bow!
