You said use your hunting setup. What if you dont hunt?

From: LightPaw
Date: 14-Aug-18

I am sure others will chime in, but 'hunting setup' is a relatively loose rule; basically, no mechanical or aiming advantage.

From: Lowcountry
Date: 14-Aug-18

I'm planning on it.

I have a lot of windshield time tomorrow getting my daughter back to college, but if I can possibly shoot in this challenge I will. Judging by some of the snipers I see on First Shot, I don't have a snowballs chance, but it would be fun nonetheless.

I did this right after First Shot. Round 1=24. Round 2=20 Round 3=16 (BOO!) and Round 4=20. Total score=80, no X's but at least all arrows scored. NOTE: most of my 6's found same hole as did some of my other shots.

JC Optimus riser, W&W 52# limbs, GT400's.

2)=4, 4)=5, 6)=5 (including 2 xs)

58 total

54# Schafer silvertip

From: White Falcon
Date: 03-Sep-18

Welllll, not to good. 20 consecutive shots. I score 22, and one of those was a six.

From: finsky
Date: 03-Sep-18

66 for me. No Xs. Had a few misses. Fun and challenging !!!

From: 1/2miledrag
Date: 03-Sep-18

Also, in looking at my photo, it would appear there's a hole outside the scoring area. That is actually the nail holding the plate.

From: Jim Keller
Date: 03-Sep-18

I had a 74 today. Shooting a Satori at 44 lbs and gt 400's with 175 Tj tips. Thanks Ronnie.

From: RJH1
Date: 03-Sep-18

72-1x 3 misses. Martin hunter 61 at my draw with 540 grain arrows. Really wanted that trophy, maybe next year

From: Nemophilist
Date: 03-Sep-18

OP said hunting set up but he didn't say for large game or small game. :) "lol" I counted a 96 ( 1X ). A few just broke the line. The OP can decide if the ones that broke the line count for the higher number.

From: 1/2miledrag
Date: 03-Sep-18

Field points for scoring targets make sense. BH's differ so much in width, the scoring (cutting lines) would not be very consistent / fair. Why on earth would this even be raised as an issue?

From: Bloody Delta
Date: 03-Sep-18

So what are you saying your score is HH?

From: Bloody Delta
Date: 03-Sep-18

I get it man, I was just curious on how you would score that with the large slice of the broadhead cutting across some lines, that’s all I was wondering.

From: Wispershot

I wish I had the 5 misses back. Shot a 68 with 3 xs

From: grizz

First time I've shot this clean with no misses. Still just a 74 and no X's. The point of the whole thing is to have fun and shoot our bows together or as close as possible on a web site. This seems to elude some.

From: 1/2miledrag
Date: 03-Sep-18

"This seems to elude some."

I think it's only

Thanks Ronnie and fellow community, this was super fun! A slight improvement over last year. I hope everyone has a safe, wonderful Labor Day.

2 x 10 = 20

4 x 4 = 16

6 x 5 = 30

Miss = 1 (of course – lol)

X = 1

Not a good day for a challenge for me. 7 warm up shots. Total of 46 and 1-X.

From: Bushytail Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 03-Sep-18

3 of the warm up shots were the 1st shot of the day thread. So I actually had 4 warm up shots for the Labor Day challenge. Maybe next year.

HH, the gents played by the rules and I played by yours. I shoot 3D - paper just indoor in winter time - but since I always have a BH with me I did the challenge "hunter" style. 1 arrow at a time, walk retrieve and shoot again. The disadvantage of shooting BH to the paper is obvious: it tears apart the paper when I pull it out from the backstop and is not necessary tearing where the arrow hit. For me it was fun. 4x2s = 8, 7x4s=28, 9x6s=54 for a total of 90 with 2x. I can do better if I am doing this way, but I am happy that the setup worked well with broadheads too. I am using my Satori and BF Ex limbs set at #52@28", arrow 470gr total with Grizzly BH.

Having trouble with the internet today, so pic wouldn't load.

Shot a 50 Using Tradtech Trident, 55@28, carbon GTs, 145gr heads. Had a blast, so much that I shot the rest of my bows for fun. Thanks for the opportunity.

From: tjulian
Date: 03-Sep-18

Well I shot a 56 this year, but I haven't shot all summer. I did get 6 in the 6 point ring though, but no ex's. I was shooting my Maddog prairie predator at 53#.

I hope the picture loads.

Well, haven't been shootin' a lot, but I think it helped some, took 3 warmups, and shot 2 arrows at a time, 10 ends each. Had 3-x's, 2-2's, 10-4's, and 8-6's for a 92. No misses, great for me, and my best to date! And, the 1st one was an X! Thanks 9/10, and your trophy looks plumb pro-fessional! This is always fun, and a great way to hone your skills, just like the 1st shot! Y'all have a safe and happy Labor day! Oh, and my huntin' setup is a Wing Slimline Pro, w/ Copperhead Limbsations. 63#@28", w/ 29" woodies: 545gr w/125 WWBH's.

Did better that previous attempts but still not great. Took no warm ups and got a score of 50 with 1x and 6 misses right off the plate . Here’s a shot of my 3rd round. Everything seemed to go left today. Used the Freeman Lamp with Gt blems

From: Sipsey River

Please elaborate on that comment HH, it’s just funny you post that right after I posted my picture and results. I had 4 arrows that were just cutting into the red 6 ring, and if I read the rules right then if an arrow is on the line it counts for the higher score.
