Anyone use this product? It’s my first time trying to make my own arrows. Any info would be great. Thanks.

I've used it. Goes on milky, but dries clear and hard. Holds up fine as well. I like Fletch lac lacquer finish better, but can't take the smell anymore. Don't build as many arrows as I used to. Now tend to use Birchwood Casey gunstock finish on my arrows. About a half- dozen hand rubbed coats. Pretty slow going and not efficient for a lot of arrows, but works fine on a dozen now and then.

I brush it on. I've used it for years. Jawge

Like Orion said, dries hard and clear and I use it on occasion for small repairs and such. But I much prefer lacquer, much more efficient.

How many coats do you use? Besides being brushed on can you dip the arrow?

I use it when I'm making wood arrows. I dip the arrows, 1st dip is used to help the cresting flow smoother. I then do about 3-4 dips after the first, and I use very fine steel wool between dips.

I've used it quite a bit in the past but I noticed that the foam from targets seems to stick to the shaft.

When I used it, I only dipped two coats.

yep will get some foam sticking as mentioned (waxing may help)

I normally cut 50/50 with water watch for bubbles if dipping as it may affect the finish foam brush is a great option as there is less waste

That do-hicky (eco-dipper) that three R sells may be a good alternative

Ok thank you for all the responses. I will experiment.

I give it 3 coats. I'm not bothered by the arrows sticking a bit. To prevent that make a silicon dip tube. Seal one end and spray the silicon inside. I used to buy the silicon spar at auto stores. Jawge

I use Min-Wax Wipe on Poly. I've been using it for years. Easy to use, easy to get, dries quickly, is relatively inexpensive, and it's very durable.

I rub it on with an old rag or apaper towel. and apply 3 to 4 coats. Can't really thing of a reason to use nayhing else.

I've used it a few times. No issues. I dip mine twice

Phil Might be the friction of the arrow that attracts the foam particles like the pop corn packing foam.......I HATE that stuff. Sticks to everything. Takes a half hour to get it in a plastic garbage bag.
