I found a fiberglass arrow in the campground I used stay in S.IL about 1975. That was about 30 years before I moved here. This was during the week, so I figured someone dropped it on the weekend. I shot it with a 125 grn broadhead and it flew great. I killed a doe with it that week. It was toast, so I couldn't use it again. Only one I ever shot.

Back in the day many a white tail were harvested with fiberglass arrows.Nothing wrong with them to hunt with at all.You can still buy china made fiberglass arrows on line ebay dirt cheap.Don,t know if they are the same quality as we used to shoot though. We shot micro flights, dura flights, and shakespere just to name a few.Inspect the arrows as you shoot them for cracks, and crush marks.

I shot bear fiberglass in the early '70's. They flew great. Any hard impact would tend to cause a split end but all in all they held up very well. Still have a couple in a box full of old stuff.

I took my last two bucks with fiberglass arrows (vintage) and will hunt with them again this year. I've been lucky to find them relatively regularly on Ebay for very reasonable cost. You have the durability of carbon and the mass of aluminum. Currently I'm shooting 500 grain Microflite and Duroflite from my 45# Black Hawk Scorpion....1966 model.

Back in the day (circa 1967), we used to use fiberglass arrows for hunting because we didn't want to ruin or lose our aluminum arrows that cost $25.00 or so a dozen. LOL!

hello all. since i recently changed over to shooting a 35# recurve i gave the carbon express thunder express arrows a try. they are sold at wallmart for $2 each. they weight about 490 grains and are 28" long. all i did was put some feathers on. they bare shaff like darts. only problem is the tip is an unusual size and it glues on with no insert. so hunting with them is a no.rich pyle
