Speaking of hats, it seems the maker of hats has disappeared? I have been busy with seasonal work and have not been around here in a while. Persona non grata?

From: 4nolz@work

Yes it got ugly publically.Im guessing temporary timeout (I do not know)

From: George D. Stout Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

He isn't here at the moment, but hopefully he will be back.

From: Pdiddly

4nolz is correct...improper, deliberate and continuous poor behaviour results in consequences.

look up his history, most of it, is gone,,,,,,,,,,

From: casekiska

I always liked him & for the most part enjoyed his posts. Yes, mistakes were made, too bad being banned is the penalty. I'd like to see him be given another opportunity/chance to do right.

Grizzley21...when a handle is removed so is the history.

Let this one die.

I hope things get better for Dan.

Words were said in the heat of the moment Cant say who was at fault as I dont know the details and really isnt important at this time.

He is a good guy for sure and I am in contact with him from time to time. Sure miss his post and talent he shared Im sure as time goes by he may be back

Im going to try and hook up with him this fall if possible for a shoot/hunt or just coffee and soup beans

From: TrapperKayak
Date: 07-Aug-18

Praying for him, hope he's okay. He seemed like a lonely man looking for company here. Had his demons as most of us do, I wish him well. He is still a good soldier. He helped others, hope he comes back.

From: Phil
Date: 07-Aug-18

OK... ... words were said in the heat of the moment ... how about we let that water flow under the bridge and welcome back our friend if he decided to return.

On a really really selfish note .... darn .. I want want one of Dans hats

From: RG
Date: 07-Aug-18

I sent a PM to him asking if he would make a hat if I sent the camo this past spring. He ended up making a hat and shipping it free of charge. I tried to pay him, he declined.

From: 4nolz@work
Date: 07-Aug-18

Sir Misalots if you saw it no one was at fault but him he was publically warned and given leniency.I hope he comes back sometime with his issues handled privately. He has been generous.

From: Pdiddly
Date: 07-Aug-18

Breaking the forum rules from time to time by accident is one thing.

Doing so deliberately and repeatedly after being warned several times, while publicly stating you know you are breaking the rules while you are doing so, is why he has been sent packing.

He was given second and third chances. He blew them as well.

The trouble with third chances is it ruins everyone else's opportunity to get a second chance.

So that is justice. We accept the rules when we join...if we don't like them we can leave or if we don't follow them we'll be removed.

Perhaps BoxCall can come back someday but it will needs to be with one of his hats in his hand, along with a sincere and heartfelt apology to the moderators for the things he said and did to them.

According to my notes, the rules are stretched thin here on a regular basis. Just look at the self promotion threads, amongst others. This is a community of Archers, who also happen to be Human. We should be able to support each other in our Archery endeavors and also our personal issues, if someone is asking for help.

From: Will tell

I sure hope he finds himself in a better place.

From: grizz
Date: 07-Aug-18

Well, I'll leave judgement to those charged with that responsibility. We all know or should know the rules but we're all human and make mistakes. As for me I'll miss Dan and hope he does come back someday .

This is Pat's sight and he gets to decide who can break the rules

From: Budly
Date: 07-Aug-18

I was unaware of this situation. I have one of his hats and did a nice arrows-for-arrows swap with him. I wish him well!

From: LBshooter

What did he do that was so awful?

From: Seneca Professional Bowhunters Society - Qualified Member
Date: 07-Aug-18

Yeah ,, What did he do that was awful...?

From: Lowcountry
Date: 07-Aug-18

He didn't do anything awful, BUT he pretty but left the Mods no choice but to do what they did.

From: LBshooter
Date: 09-Aug-18

How long is the time out?

From: swampwalker
Date: 09-Aug-18

Enough. Let time work it out. Sounds like Dan's has somethings to work out. Pleading ain't gonna get it done.

From: White Falcon
Date: 09-Aug-18

I got a great hat also.

From: dean
Date: 10-Aug-18

I think what Dan wanted was to have conversation and communal contact with people that he had things in common with. He sometimes went off of the archery topics, but that never bothered me. We sent him a butt load of material, heavy weight dacron camo, because he enjoyed giving and sharing his talents. Drawing narrow lines can seem politically correct, but all to often, as in mainstream media, PC is more about control to avoid criticisms. With most internet forums, certain things are forbidden, that keeps the preacher only preaching to the choir. Perhaps forums should have open chat areas so that a wider variety of issues that may either directly in indirectly, that affect us all, can be debated.

From: Tom McCool
Date: 10-Aug-18

Dan seemed like a tough no nonsense kind a guy. He was way out of line and knew the consequences. He got what was coming...I think Dan would agree.

And yes...he gave me a terrific free hat also.

From: 4nolz@work
Date: 10-Aug-18

Dean bowsite does have that.Commubity forum.Leatherwall is a subforum of bowsite

From: Pdiddly
Date: 10-Aug-18

The rules here are intended to keep the conversations about traditional archery.

Clear to me.

If you want to raise discussions about ex-wives, errant family members, where to meet women etc keep them private, as they should be.

Tom McCool is 100% correct. He was WAY out of line and got what was coming to him.

Now he's doing the time...c'est le vie.

Drop this discussion please.
