I have added a dual shelf grizzly 62" 50lb to my collection . I enjoy shooting it . It is by far the oldest recurve I own by 10 yrs or so . Anybody out there huntin with these old bows . I am thinkin about it but huntin time is precious

Why would you not? I've hunted with bows that old on more than one occasion, as have lots of other folks on here.
It's all about how well you shoot it.

I've only hunted with early 50s Bear static recurves and heavy wood arrows for several years now with good success. If you're comfortable with the bow and shoot it well have at it. That's what they're built for!

Like fdp asked, why would you not? I took a nice whitetail buck with a 1940's lemonwood bow back in 1992. That bow is retired now but I used it for about fifteen years from 1992 to 2007 and it even traveled the country. So my answer is … hunt with it.

The only thing that would keep me from using it would be its condition. If it looks good and shoots good, go for it. I hunted a handful of times last season with my 59 Grizz.

I really like those mid 50’s Bear bows. I wouldn’t think twice, I’d go hunting with it.

nice thing about archery we can use anything that works for the archer. waiting on a static now to go with my 50's double shelf kodiak

I'll be hunting this year with a 51 year old Grizzly. If you shoot it well and it's in good condition, don't know why you'd give it a second thought.

I have a '55 Grizzly static that I shoot often and hunted a little last year. Coolest vintage bows out there IMO.

I hunted with the 53' grizzly static that should arrive in Humpy's hands today for a few seasons. Everyone always commented on how quiet that bow is. Nice and lightweight too. No kills, but that wasn't the bow! Eric
