My daughter is an opera singer and likes experimenting with different sounds and languages. Kulning is a swedish song to call the cows to the barn...sorta like yodeling. Check out what happened when she tried it in the hills above Our lake cabin in Washington State.
Thanx Dao and Peco...Not sure why the link did not show on my original post, but yep this is it. My daughter said this is one of the most amazing things that ever came from her singing. Better than a theater full of Applause!
I spent some time in Switzerland skiing back in 1985 and 1986 when I was stationed over seas with the Army and at the lodge they did some yodeling for us tourists. But Kulning like in Dao's video is really cool. On my families farm we just yelled " Here Daisy " numerous times and the cattle would come in for feeding. I guess they all thought their names were daisy. "lol"
That's pretty neat if you ask me, never seen anything that compares to it. Although when I was a kid and would slop the hogs I always cut loose with a few rounds of sooey, sooooey, don't know if I spelt it right but the pigs new what it meant.
Very sweet! But, sheesh, as if hunting with stick and string isn't challenging enough. Now, I hafta learn to yodel/kuln or persuade a swedish girl to go into the mountains with me?! :)
I've never yodeled a deer in but have snored a few in. I snore like a chain saw and have woke up a few times with a buck within 20 yards staring at me.lol
Amazing!!! Certainly an attractive tone/pitch in the young ladies yodel. A deer's incredible curiosity is often their undoing. Come winter in Michigan's U.P. a chain saw will bring em in like cattle. Classical conditioning on display. Great Video!
