Well it's been a busy summer and this is long overdue. My grandsons have played with "Grandpa's Toy" a few times now and they are starting to get the hang of it. Charlie is my oldest grandson and listens to instruction pretty well. He's starting to develop some form and consistency. Here's a few pictures. Honestly it very hard to get good full draw pictures and give instructions at the same time. Bjrogg

Thanks guys. Stickbow Felty, it's getting close to time to start him shooting the one I did make for him. I made all my grandkids selfbows but they were just a tad heavy for them to start out with. That's why I made "Grandpa's Toy. It's much more suitable for starting them out. Charlie did want to try his bow today and shoot it pretty fair a few times. Then he wanted Grandpa's Toy again. He was happy he could shoot his bow so much better though. I think by the time he gets his form automatic he'll be ready for his stickbow. Bjrogg

Never too young to learn shooting a bow, congrats!

Wonderful! Nothing better than “boys with bows with Grampa”. Lance

Thanks aromakr, agree completely. Sometimes you have to teach a little patience to both the young Archer and the old Grandpa first. I want them to learn some form and not pick up to many bad habits, but I realize I have to keep it fun to. Yes knifeguy I diffently realize how lucky I am to have my grandkids close and still have them think grandpa's ok Bjrogg

Thanks Dao, I think I posted this bow on the "lets see those selfbows" thread. It is one of my favorites ( I've got a quite a few favorites though)lol. Made grandpa feel pretty good when Charlie told me "grandpa you build really Nice bows and arrows". At least I've got a small fan club.lol. Thanks Deno

Good for you, Bjroog! I started my boys the same and they are better little men for it.

I like it a lot. Out of the house, off the sofa, and away from all the internet devices--for both of you!

Thanks for sharing. I’ve found that when you learn how tough it is to be patient with a child, you only start to understand how patient your parents or teachers were with you. They only wanted to make the world a better place by teaching you. When we get our chance, it’s nice to make a difference in a positive way. Helps you get a good night’s sleep. It’s not the particular sport, or hobby or activity that matters, it’s the time spent and their appreciation of the love you send their way. Makes us all better. Great fun there! Ambleman

Great picture Mr. Robertson. Fine looking young man.

Couldn't agree more Scoop

Ambleman when I was in my early twenties I had a poster with two vultures sit on a cactus. One says to the other "patience my a$$, I'm going to kill something " I've since learned the value of patience.

Thanks everyone

That's great Nrthernrebel, it's taken awhile for everything to kinda come together and start to work right. Mostly my fault as I needed to make a bow that fit better. Probably should have just bought a cheap FG. Might have had same issue. Bjrogg
