Why does my finger hurt here? It feels like I am shooting bare fingers. Only this finger... ~Wojo

You drag that finger. I do the same and actually have a callus on the finger

Yep, I do the same; I have a callus that looks like an upside-down smile on the finger. All the greats shoot that way, LOL...holding the string til the last split-second of aiming is done.

On my larger Spig BB tab, This does not seam to happen. Just on the Yost Predator tab. But I like the Yost tab better. Should I invest in the large Yost tab?

Well, what can I say?

I think you will find its caused by a high elbow, placing more pressure on the third finger. Get the elbow down level with the shoulder.

Yep...Bob is right I think. A few years ago I had the same problem and just lowered my elbow. Now there's no callus or soreness.

I have the same callus. If I'm pulling more with my arm vs. my back, my elbow comes up and it puts pressure on my ring finger. I found if I grab my pinky finger with my thumb on my draw hand, it seems to help align things for me and makes my back work better...it's an old John Shultz tid bit a friend of mine shared and has helped me a lot...

Happy hunting, Jason

Another side effect of gripping with that finger is string toque. Shows up a lot with shooting off the shelf, arrows bounce. I had this issue for years. Covered it up by using a raised rest. Using a glove I have to be aware of this more so than when I shot a tab.

High elbow can sure be a cause. Also are you hooking up out on the pad there, rather than in the first joint? I make my own tabs with a little more padding than most. You might try adding some. I cut up a mouse pad to use for more padding between the tab layers.Good luck. >>>----> Ken

The Callas should be built up already.

I switched from my bw tab to a 3r duraglove. Havent had anymore tenderness, nor callus. Im thinking its how my finger rested on the string with the tab. By your pic, id say a larger tab would do the trick, but 1st id try a lil more padding, maybe a strip of velcro before i went spending $ on a larger tab. Unless you can trade tabs with someone, thats always cheaper and folks buy the wrong size all the time.
