True, so why doesn't the same thing apply to fishing? I mean if I sit bobbing up and down all day trying to catch a fish and don't, I have totally wasted my time.

From: yorktown5
Date: 12-Jun-18

Nope JusP. Same thing. After catching a few, I spent 4 fishless hours standing in a trout stream last PM. Watched the bugs, occasional rising trout, an otter catch a fish and a stork stalking the shallows. Spent all day today adjusting my casting with longer range rods plus tying and sorting flies and am heading out again later this PM.

It was a great day.

Right on, Bluesman. I always feel closer to God when I am outdoors and take the time to slowdown, look around, and see how things out there work.

In the Bible just like that exactly? Yeah right! False doctrine!

If it takes you being in the bush to actually feel closer to God whats that really say for us?

Certainly not that we are spiritual. And you really think that comes from God? I certainly don't. Know the truth and it will set you free.

re. the very first reply in this thread - "True, so why doesn't the same thing apply to fishing? I mean if I sit bobbing up and down all day trying to catch a fish and don't, I have totally wasted my time."

There is a very real difference between fishing and 'catching'. Someone once said, 'The fishing was good, the catching was poor.'

I've never considered one minute of fishing, hunting or shooting to be time 'wasted'. Sometimes I've caught nothing, killed nothing, or couldn't buy a ten ring with gold eagles. But every minute was good.

On Down the Road..........

Hold to the course, though the storms are about you;

Stick to the road where the banner still flies;

Fate and his legions are ready to rout you--

Give 'em both barrels--and aim for their eyes.

Life's not a rose bed, a dream or a bubble,

A living in clover beneath cloudless skies;

And Fate hates a fighter who's looking for trouble,

So give 'im both barrels--and shoot for the eyes.

Fame never comes to the loafers and sitters,

Life's full of knots in a shifting disguise;

Fate only picks on the cowards and quitters,

So give 'em both barrels--and aim for the eyes.
