21 yards quartering away shot as called. Black Canyon 62”-49# LB.

Thanks for the call CD!

I watched part of an episode of Seamp People last night with Troy Landry teamed up with a snake specialist in the Florida Everglades. They were catching pythons bare handed. The snake person had collected 900 in a relatively short time. No way for this Yankee! You Floridians (and Louisianians) are tough Hombres!

Shot as called. About 6" low today. :^( 51# Yellowstone Hunter with Herritage 150s with 175gr points.

Scott they bite you first with those teeth that are angled back into their mouths, you can't get loose once they strike, then they coil around you, ya we don't hunt them alone, at least three people armed with large knives, but I like to arrow them, they don't belong here and are destroying everything. Of course I know you know this, just posting for the others that aren't familiar.

The ones they were catching were ten feet and under I believe, but in that tall saw grass you never know how big they are.

We have them as far north as central Fl. the authorities catch them and give them to zoo's I shoot them and bury them, my back hoe has been busy this past year.

I did shoot a yellow python in my neighbors yard, but it was a little one.

Hell Ronny i been bit before,,,,i had a friend that had those things,,he raised them,,weirdo ; ) As long as i can bite back! Thats why its called hunting right,,,bears and bobcats and coyotes bite,,i hunt them ; ) Id be more affraid of water snakes down there,,,,get some of them red neck waiters and head on out

I realize the pythons are constrictors but also aware that they bite like Ron described and then the 17’ muscle wraps around your neck and squeezes until your eyes pop out and then they swallow you whole. No thanks! I might ride the bridge on the truck as a spotter but don’t ask me to wade through sawgrass looking for them.

Glad to hear you are doing your part to eradicate them Ron! Now I realize why you are so good shooting after dark with a headlamp!

Pennsylvania only has three venomous snakes. The Timber Rattlesnake, Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake, Northern Copperhead. All three are easily identified. Our biggest snake is the Eastern Rat snake which gets to be 40" to 100" in length. Like Mountain Man we have Bobcats, Coyotes, and Black Bears. Here is a picture of a black Bear from three years ago that was raiding my buddies bird feeders at night.
