All Black Widow bows. Same email address but different names.

http://leatherwall.bowsite.com/tf/lw/classdetail.CFM?id=141351 http://leatherwall.bowsite.com/TF/lw/classdetail.CFM?id=141663 http://leatherwall.bowsite.com/TF/lw/classdetail.CFM?id=141541

All may be on the level but it looks funny to me.

email him and ask your question and then get a phone number to clear up issues. Two of the ads have the same handle, third is different. paranoia is strong here

Just be careful.

No history for any of the names.

That latter would red-flag it for me. If you log in from different devices you might need different accounts, but...

'Caveat emptor', old advice, good advice.

Ive given up on LW classifieds unless I know the person theres too much weird stuff it seems.

From: crookedstix

Yep, anyone with no posting history on LW is going to have to convince me over the phone that they're for real.

No History, NO DEAL!

From: BowAholic
Date: 12-Jun-18

I'm as careful as anyone on here but a couple of weeks ago I had a bow for sale and got a trade offer from a no history new guy...and it didn't help any that his handle was "Freebow". LOL Anyway he was new, lived 2 hours away, but we met halfway and did a great trade, so you never know.

Thanks for posting that BowAholic because I'm new here with no history, but I'm loving this site and looking to deal and would never screw anyone over.

I’ve had no issues buying and selling here. Actually the people were some of the best I’ve ever dealt with

I agree with Bighorn. A couple weeks back a guy responded to my listing and he had no history, not posts. I told him to respond to my e-mail address instead of pm and he asked if we could do text messages instead as he was out of the country at the time. All red flags to me, but he explained that he had been a member on LW for a while but just didn't post. Long story short, he sent me a postal money order. I took it to the bank and it cleared and I shipped the limbs to him. No problem.

I developed a neat friendship with a guy to whom I sold a bow who had not one post. He just enjoys reading what others have to say. No post does not necessarily mean they are a fraud.

yes I had a couple that same bows similar emails and names but no history at all with site for posts. Was helping friend find a black widow bow...we steered clear of them. may not mean they are a fraud but I would like to keep my perfect record of not losing money to a scam artist after being here on this site since the very beginning in 1990s.

keep em sharp,

Always pays to be careful--- lots of great stand up people here to deal with, but there are some snakes also.

I want to talk with the person who is selling something online. Email contact. phone contact. Then I make the decision if I want to buy the item- after getting a sense of the buyer.

Also beware that. USPS money is great, if the transaction goes well. If it doesn’5 They is no slower way to address a problem. I think you have to wait 90 days before you can file a claim. No stop payment option. The USPS drastically needs to improve this product/service to get caught up to today’s online buying issues, to protect the buyer. They don’t

Buyer beware. Thanks for sharing your observation. It helps to protect the herd. I hate cheats, liars and thieves.

Postal money orders are on of the most counterfeited that there are, so don't tell folks that they are fool-proof....they ain't.

No history, no deal, but frankly I don't much care for our classified. It's like photobucket..filled with erroneous culprits posing as Leatherwall members. There isn't much of a fail-safe here and anyone with an email...or someone else's email can sign on.

Is there a way to leave feedback on sellers or buyer here. I bought a SK from a member and the bow was awesome and I sent money to a name on the internet. I guess I trust traditional guys have better ethics than the average guy?

Phone calls clear everything up

Do as you think. If someone only uses the forum to buy and sell and not participate, then too bad. We have plenty of honest, folks here all the time without trying to weed out the ones we aren't sure of. Traditional doesn't mean honest.

I like buying with Paybal, as in e-bay. They are good about protecting buyers. If you use Paypal privately - 'gifting' - you have -zero- protection.

That said, I have never been burned dealing with people who I know via their posting history.

Well i think just because you do not post does not mean you are a bad guy or crook . i know guys that are perfectly honest they do not post ever i have made deals with perfectly good people that i just met for the first time . just because they are traditional does not make them honest . if a guy sends me the money why does he need to be on here making a hundred posts every day a lot of what i see posted here at times is the same old stuff just a new day by the dame guys
