Got hit by this about 2hrs after my FS. Got hit by sheer winds from a storm. Sheered off about every tree in my yard. One took out my neighbors garage. We have not had much rain for weeks but my place looks like a damn bomb went off

Dang Todd. You could use my mill right now, !!! Glad you and the family are safe. I feel for ya bro.

Well if you want to haul it across the continent, ought to be a bunch of good cores in that hard maple. She was straight grained for about 15'. Could probably get some good table slabs off of it also! LOL

Thought you were going to be gone for a couple weeks. Your knife is fine, but the rain came threw the west windows of the shop and soaked that longbow. was going to lay it up this morning but got lazy. been a really hard week at work so thought I'd just kick back. I'll have to put it in the hot box for couple hours and dry the damn thing out now before I glue it up

Good gosh that must have been some storm.Glad everyone is ok. The weather has been extreme to say the least the past couple years. I still have yet to get a garden in because of the crazy monsoon like rain we have had this spring. Best of luck with your clean up and recovery.

Carport took one for the giper. Suburban and Lexus under it. LOL Neighbors garage did not fair so well

Still raining this morning taking day off of work to get some things done. Yeah 30pt this ought to keep me busy and some friends for a while. Looks like I will have plenty of fire wood for this winter. Figure it will cost me about 3 cases of beer and a pork shoulder after I dig the smoker out

Man, a couple of those pics almost look my old family cottage on the bluffs of Lake MI in northern Mason County. Had a big storm come through int the mid 90's that took out a couple dozen HUGE trees, yet managed to avoid all the buildings.

dang! looks like it could've been a LOT worse as far as damage. Glad you and yours are ok

That must have been some storm. Glad everyone was safe. You can replace your bow limbs but it wouldn't be as easy to replace your limbs. Good luck with the cleanup.

Bad deal man, don't hurt yourself on the cleanup! Happened to me about 15 years ago, lost lots of trees, but house and shop survived, thank the LORD for large blessings!

Good Grief! That’s a lot of damage, glad you’re OK.

Last spring had the same thing happen. The trees were maples of your size and in a perfectly straight line. Appeared healthy to me and they were snapped off 8 feet from the base. Mother Nature can be a bitch sometimes. I guess you came out ok under the circumstances. Be careful with that chainsaw, hang-ups and the like.

OMG what a mess is everyone alright. I told you guys mother nature is cruel. Downright ornery she is at times. It does generate income for others though.

Got a new power pole up today. Rained all night and this morning. Fella's just left about 45 min. ago and its another bad storm coming in raining like hell

Appreciate all the well wishes. Got off the phone with an adjuster about a 6 pack ago. He is coming out tomorrow to tell me I get to eat all of the mess other than my neighbors garage since none of it hit my stuff. What a crock

From: Burnsie
Date: 13-Jun-18

Todd, where abouts in Illinois are you? I live near Champaign/Urbana. I lucked out, only a few small branches, but significant damage just a few miles South with confirmed tornadoes. Further South got it even worse. Glad you are OK.

From: Oldbowyer
Date: 13-Jun-18

Were pretty close. About 70 miles or so south. If you know where Mattoon is about another 17 miles south of that. Toledo took it on the chin especially on my end of town the N.W. side. Just looking around think I got hit the hardest.

I'll have to tip my hat to the adjuster. My wife dealt with him. Think he took one look at the place found some mercy for me. Have to laugh at the way he "padded" things. Funniest one was for the hard maple that hit my cold smoker. My wife told him that that smoker made the best damn bacon she ever ate. Got 135 dollars for the smoker damage and 1800 to get the tree off of it! LMAO. In a lot better mood this evening. All in all looks like I've got enough to clean the place up, Maybe some left over for some fresh side for the smoker

Glad you are safe my friend. Everything else can be fixed. JF
