In MN and Michigan, the Canada honkers are molting right now. I've picked up a bagful, over the last two days, and Herbie from Michigan has been grabbing them up. Get to your local goose-infested park and start grabbing them before they get mowed over!

Excellent advice from Joe. That's where I get them. Just walk around and pick them up.

It might not be legal in your state, but they get mowed over within a few days, as city parks are always mowing.

Ya shoot them or pick up along banks when molting where geese are around parks and pounds and ant waterways but that takes a lot of work. Easiest is to get from shot birds. Wait till gunning season then look around for guys to give up wings.
There is a fellow on here who was sending out feathers from his shot birds. I have some but don't know when I'll shoot any others maybe never again so to me they are precious?
If your hard up do the molting act but if you want the premier feathers then wait till its game on for the gunning seasons.

I used to get mine at the golf courses around. The Canadas would congregate at certain points around the lake. I could pick up a 3o gallon plastic bag full in half an hour. So many you could be very picky. The golf course has since gotten rid of a large number of the geese as they were becoming a nuisance. Good luck!

I live in N.E. Arkansas. Which is a huge goose and duck hunting area. I also work at a sporting goods store that caters to duck and goose hunters. Most of the guys I work with hunt geese like crazy. So one of the gents I work with brought me a bunch of dead geese that had been breasted out. I just took some sharp feathers and cut all the primary from the left wings. My only issue so far is some snow goose feathers aren't quite long enough to get a good 5" fletch out of. But I am making it work.
