Back in Tennessee for now. Dale Hollow, the club that will host the 2019 Spring Fling Arrow Fling, hosted a traditional shoot, so Pappy asked if I wanted to drive down and shoot today.

I never turn down a date with Pappy, so off we went. The night prior I threw a rig together - Fox Triple Crown longbow and a set of carbons. It's an incredible bow, but I am less than dialed in. We joined up with Will Harrison and shot the course early. We had a blast!

After we shot, James Parker was milling around so we caught up with him. I took a look at his longbow. James is a very good bowyer. I complimented his bow, so he said, "It's yours! Take it home, shoot it, kill a deer with it and send me a pic."

What a great shooter. I went home and tuned it up with some of Paul Jalon's woodies. By the way, Paul Jalon is the best arrowsmith I have ever met. The arrows are beautiful and shoot like a dream. I'm committed to James's bow and Paul's arrows for the fall.

68" bow 45# @ 28" Bamboo back and belly with a layer of osage

Arrows are 5/16" Port Orford Cedar Parallel shafts 53# spine with 125 gr. point

Nice Jimmy! Sorry I missed you. I would have come down for the day, but had to pack up for Cloverdale. We are heading there tomorrow morning to camp for the week.

James Parker does incredible work with his bows. Glad to see it go to someone who will get the most out of it.

It was good to meet you, Jimmy. I shot the course with James and that bunch. it was a blast. as James was packing up I tried to let get him to give me take one off his hands, He said 'sure, as long as you buy one of my high dollar bow socks'. LOL

It was good to see all you guys at Buck Hollow Bowhunters this weekend. We hope you all enjoyed your selves and come back often. James Parker kept us all rolling for the better part of the week end. He is a flint knapping son of a gun and builds a great bow. If it wasn't for Pappy and that Twin Oaks Clan over there we would't be where we are now and we are greatly appreciative for all they do and have done for us. We strive to get better each and every shoot. Open shoot (Benefit) for a little girl in the community and we will be selling BBQ chickens July the 7th. Vintage bow shoot July 8th, you have to shoot any stick bow made in the 70's or older or a self bow. It is always a blast.

Parker and jalon ,if you still cant shoot good with that duo a person needs to try a different sport.

My apologies for calling it Dale Hollow. I know a Dale Hollow so I suppose it was on my mind. It's BUCK Hollow as has been noted.

Decided I'll be able to get enough practice in with this rig to take it up to Metropolis for the ASA shoot. I'll get spanked by the recurves, but it will be good practice for next summer on that course. The US Archery 3D Trials will be there for the World shoot to be held the following month in Alberta.

When i hear Dale Hollow i think of Billy Westmoreland Bass tournament pro back in the day.Caught monster small mouth bass from dale Hollow lake. I still have a signature boron graphite rod of his.Off topic i know ,but just had to mention that.It brings me back to my younger days and memories.
