Being right handed, I thought I'd try shooting left handed. I just happened to have a dual shelp 44# Bear Cub that worked out great. After about 25 arrows things finally started to click......sloppy but a start. Doing things left handed is a challenge in itself, but the muscles used in left handed shooting VS right is totally different. I probably shot 60 arrows and I can tell I'm gonna feel it tomorrow. Think I'll keep at it and if nothing else it will give me another weapon in the arsenal off skills.

Stay at it Paul. I taught myself to help with some back issues, particularly an arthritic spine and three bulging discs. That was two years ago. It gets a little easier every outing and I still shoot 'both' handed. Let those muscles recover for a day and that will actually help.

Thanks for the tips George. I actually did far better than I expected, still pretty bad but better than expected. Being right eye dominant, I found that simply pointing my hand at the center of the bail offered better success than trying to use the arrow as a reference. I got a long way to go but I think I'm going to enjoy the learning experience.

Never considered shooting a bow left handed, hmmmm.

Tried shooting my shotgun LH because of different predicaments in turkey hunting. I also trained myself to carve stone south paw. Worked out better than flipping the building upside-down when carving a gargoyle on a scaffold. John

This was one of my new years resolutions. I have tried it a few times. It’s going to take me a while.

After many years of right handed shooting I switched to left handed due to a shoulder injury. It was challenging to learn how to do it, but I did. It can be done, just requires dedication and perseverance. Thankfully my shoulder is healed and I'm back to right handed shooting but it was an interesting learning experience and another plus to my bag of archery shooting skills.

I think the hardest part is letting go of the string with the other fingers. It just doesn't feel right in the get go.

I have shot both hands some. I like the thought of being able to shoot left handed, and it does feel strange. This was a shock to me as I do most things left handed, except shoot. Like others have said, keep at it and in time it becomes easier and better.

I have also been considering trying left handed shooting. I been trying to find a cheap older left hand bow in low poundage. When I actually have the money available I'm sure I will find one. My left shoulder rotator cuff has some issues, that is the reason I have came to this idea. Don't want to switch all the way. Just would like to be able to do both. And one day if I have to switch if needed.

Shawn, I didn't switch entirely since I'm so much more accurate right handed. I've found though that it helps with balance (muscle) and that helps with my spine alignment..or at least my brain has convinced me of that by easing the pain. ;) I feel confident now that I could hunt left handed if necessary and that will come in handy with my osage selfbow...a righty/lefty itself. Baby steps.

During the spring I was rotating between the two on a daily basis. Monday left handed, Tuesday right handed, and so on. Between the dang monsoons here and work, I haven't shot with either hand in two or three weeks now.

I'm left handed and I got out my dad's old right handed blackhawk galaxie and was shooting right handed. Did much better than I expected but I am a drummer and have to be somewhat ambidexterous. I think that's the word I wanted to use. what helped was he always shot with a sight.

Zildjian51, didn't even think about that. I'm a guitar picker and I'm sure that does help at some point in the old brain.

I am VERY right handed! I have to think about a while before flipping on a light switch with my left hand.

I tried a lefty bow just one time. My impulse was to let go of the bow! Can't do it.
