Today is Memorial Day. Please take time to remember those who have died while serving in our country's military forces.

Today's shot will be a walk back series... 15, 20, 25 yards.

God Bless America!

As called but I was sitting on a bucket, just the way I hunt. The white Fletch left to right. 25, 15 and 20. The orange was a follow-up at 25. Shooting the SF Wesley Special 65" 58 @ 27. Having never served my self l have several Brothers, Nieces and Nephew's who have, so indeed this is a day of Memorium and Gratitude to all that have and are serving.

Luckily we are here to remember, so many aren't.

Well folks my hickory bow has dropped to 30lbs, I checked the moisture content and it was 18.5, very disappointed, I searched around and found some tiny arrows that could be shot from a thirty pound bow, forgive me for using them, but I have no choice until I can replace them or do something with the bow. At least they have feathers not vanes.

My first arrow hit the target dead center and drove the washer back on the shaft, the photo will explain. I was wondering why my accuracy went down, I was shooting arrows spined for a 50lb bow. and yes I was feeling the difference, but was hoping it wasn't so.

Mountain Man, at least I will be warm this winter I got some firewood.

I put eight heavy coats of tru oil on it, obviously that wasn't enough.

I put it in the oven and will start drying it back out, not that it will help, but maybe it won't go any further.

I can use this bow when I get in my eighties,,,,,Ha!Ha!

Thank you to everyone who has or is serving in the military. The tragedy and horror of war can never be forgotten. We have so much to be thankful for. Someday soon God will end all wars. Until then we do what’s right and hope for the future.

Walk back shots as called. I confess this is not my first shots of the day. I enjoyed this morning spending time with Ed Grosko chasing carp. I tried 4X and have not figured out the paralllax caused by the water. Ed got a nice big one though.

Anyway, that was several hours ago and obviously did not help me on this series. My 15 yard shot was low right. 20 yard was high. The 25 yard shot was left.

Thanks for the call CD!

Yep, there's a bit of a learning curve when shooting fish, but once you get it you never forget. For off season fun it's a blast!

Being in Florida I have shot a lot more fish than game, it is fun because you get to reel in after you stick it.

I used a cajun spool tie wrapped to the back of my Yew bow, you just unwind what you think you will need and shoot.

These new bow reels look like fun.

Like the other guys said aim below,..... about 8 inches

just find some water and sink a milk bottle full of sand and practice on that.

Thanks for the tips on aiming at fish. I must not have aimed low enough. I focused on the bottom edge of their belly. Hopefully I’ll get another chance soon to try everyone’s advice. It was fun trying! We were shooting from a bank that was 8-10’ above the water level. The fish were 5-10 yards out.
