Hi,
Please bear with this long question but I'm a bit confused.
I used the arrow spine calculator as offered on 3 rivers archery site? By entering my bow information and arrow information it supposedly calculated the a matching arrow spined for the dynamic the energy of my bow.
For example, I found a 30.75 inch 3 Rivers Carbon arrow at 9.1 GPI with 14 grain insert and 150 grain head, plus nock and feathers gave me a total weight of about 465 grains or +9.2 grains per pound. This current set up seems to work well with my bow.
My question is: I often read threads about guys who front load their arrows by adding insert weights and using super heavy heads. Doesn't this throw off the correct arrow spine for the bow? Am I doing something wrong?
