Ok Guys, my turn is coming up in the next few weeks for an Elkheart build. My Question is, do any of you who have one , have a 52 incher? My draw length is 26, so I know I can go with the 52 or 54. How is the shoot ability of the shorter bows with shorter draw lengths? Thanks

I use to have a Elkheart. These bows are designed to be short but no advantage of super short. I would not go shorter than 54 for reasons listed above. Gregg make a nice bow, you will like it!

The Java Man is top notch. I had my Helmsdeep out today, 54" long, smooth draw, no finger pinch. I'd order a 54" and spend my energy on choosing the wood and phenolic combinations. Get something interesting.

You could match Osage with Cocobolo. Or, put a little piece of Karelian Birch in the riser.

Here is a picture of a beautiful bow that I lifted from cleenrelees here. It is tiger maple, purple heart, and Macaser ebony. You could substitute curly maple, and red and black phenolic.

I have a 56" elk heart and draw almost 27". It's my go to bow and probably my favorite out of all my bows. I wouldn't hesitate to go with a 54" or 52". As you probably know, Gregg is top notch and a pleasure to deal with!

I have the 60" Falcon in black and white ebony and love it

I’d be in the camp of 54 or 56 inch length. A little more forgiving in my opinion.

Good choice either way.

Thanks for all the great info, decided on a “54”, wanted an all Black and Gray bow, with accents, so it’s gonna be Gray “camo” veneers, Black Dymalux and Gray phenolic I-beam riser with blue accents, water buffalo tip and handle overlays, with finger grooves! Think it gonna be really Sharp looking!

Please post some pictures of your Javabow when you receive it. I will (we will) be waiting for your new bow to arrive for as long as you will. I can picture the black and gray, but I'd like to see the blue trim.

I will definitely post pics, I received an email from Gregg that my build will start next week Tuesday! I am also going with the bow bolt take down system.

Those of you who shoot a 54" Elkhart what is your draw? I'm debating between a 56" and a 54" my draw is 29" Thanks
