waxed (or unwaxed) floss works great, been doing that for years because Bohning classics have a really big throat....... use a nail knot and finish with a lighter.

Reach Dento tape waxed is the best thing i've used. Is thicker than regular floss and will last very long. I build up servings all the time with it to get proper nock fit. Super good stuff. You can get it online from Amazon. Stores don't seem to ever have it.

I've used dental floss since reading about it in the Herter's catalog many moons ago. Nothing better in my opinion, and it's cheap...like me. A ninety-seven sent container will last for a year, maybe longer.

I use the ribbon type of common dental floss. Works fine and lasts a long time. I get a free roll every time I go to the dentist. - lbg

When needed I use the Teflon Tape method that Thumper uses.

I do the Teflon tape too... But, I also build my own strings so it's just part of the original process.
Happy hunting, Jason

Dental floss here. Lots of work to strip and re-serve when it"s not absolutely necessary. If I needed to re-serve a string and wanted to tighten things up a little, then I would use the Teflon tape. I usually just heat/soften the nocks in hot water and put them over the string and pinch and hold. Seems to work for me.
