I have a Osage self bow that's 60 inches long and pulling between 40 to 45 pounds at 22 inches. Im shooting a 450 gr. Cedar arrow. If I retiller the bow to pull 40 to 45 pounds at 25 inches shooting the same arrow will it shoot the same, faster or slower?

If you draw the bow to 25", at 45# the bow will shoot much faster because of the longer power stroke.

What Eric said.

You can also, if desired, "pike" the bow to increase poundage.

This means simply cutting perhaps a half ince or inch from each limb tip, re-shaping the limb tips & string grooves & using an appropriately shorter string.

Actually... there are some tests/theories, about just this subject, going on right now. Badger has at least one thread going on the subject. I did agree with Eric, but I'm watching the threads... http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,63305.0.html
