Fellas - wanted to say "thanks..." My wife and I are both reservists. A year ago we found out she was going to have to deploy for 9 months. In preparation for the deployment I decided I better pick up a new challenge as quiet times are the worst. (This isn't my first deployment rodeo) Before she even left... I booked a bear hunt, gave my Mathews away... and ordered a Centaur. Fast forward... I'm now 4 months in to the deployment... had my bow for 3 months... and am 5 weeks away from my bear hunt. Granted - it was an expensive way to problem solve... but what a wise choice.

To the point - I live in Houston... and have ZERO traditional archery friends... the Leatherwall has really been a great resource for me. When I got my bow I started shooting and I won't lie... I second guessed the decision a few times. My outfitter said "12 - 20 yds is the typical shot." It seems laughable NOW but a month ago - anything past 10 was shaky. I didn't know how to aim/point... arrows flew like crap... I had lots of issues. But I guess I knew I would and that was the point. Continued practice and wisdom from the Wall have got me right. This morning I shot out to 25 and rarely left my 8" circle. Thanks Jim Neaves for building a superb bow and thanks LW. This traditional journey started off as a grand distractor... but it's turned in to much more.

I fly for Alberta in 35 days... I miss my bride but I'm holding steady.

Best of luck! I hung up my PSE wheel bow too and am concentrating on trad for the first time this year. All about simplifying for me. When life can be so complicated, why over complicate the fun stuff. Cheers and safe travels.

First and most important we thank you and your wife for what you do for us. Secondly the LW is the trad archery learning college. With no less than 50 experts among us you can get at least 25 different answers to any of your trad guestions. Really , a lot of knowledgeable people here more than willing to help. Be safe and good luck on your hunt.

Good luck on your hunt. You picked some premium gear. If I had to chose one glass bow and one arrow shaft, it would be exactly what you have there.

Shooting a trad type bow is really a fun pastime. Almost as good as fishing.....almost.

Great story you shared and best to you on your Bear hunt. Nice bow too.

Pearl Drums... thanks. I couldn't be happier with my bow. I never regret my choice when I draw it back.

My bride... I haven't converted her to trad yet... perhaps when she gets back I'll deploy and suggest that she take up a stick bow to pass the time. Damn I'm good...

Thanks for you and your wife's service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every time I see one of Jim's bows I go crazy in a bad way!!!

JAR, I that was my bow I'd move the gripper on the quiver all the way to the left on the rubber holder. It puts the arrows in the same plane as the bow. Little easier to get through brush and for me it improves the balance.

BUT most important it will look better.
