My go to is a Lynx. I see Dan is not making them anymore. What bows have you guys tried that would be similar? I like the slim riser and profile. Just have the itch to try something else. Thanks. Bill

I've owned several Lynx, now I own a Zipper Nitro. Just as quiet, faster, and a fantastic grip.

Pronghorns are one of the smallest riser longbows...

Scott Mitchell at TimberHawk brought a prototype of a 3 piece longbow to the Trad Fest. He asked me to shoot it and give him my opinion. I thought it was smooth and shot great. You might contact him and see if it's going into production soon. I've owned one of his 3 piece recurves and a couple of his one piece longbows and liked all of them.

Take a look at Blacktail's TD. It has a small slim riser . . .

Also, look at Wagstaff archery, Conner's risers are a bit larger though . . . closer to a recurve, but both bows are really nice.

Sarrels SR should be a good fit for you my friend.

You should try another Toelke, I just bought a Super Static and it's amazing in my opinion! Love the Whips too!

My Pronghorn is very quiet, small riser and short lead time. Yes, I like it.

RER makes a 3 piece takedown, although I haven't really thought about RER since Kevin TerMaat sold the company

Rich Wormington of Yellowstone Custom Bows makes a 3 piece longbow. Looks really nice. If things go right, I'm going to order one around June.

I’m a GW Flanagan, fan myself. Great bows if you can get your hands on one.

A&H acs is the best shooting bow I have ever shot. It just fits me perfectly. I own others but grab the acs most of the time.

If you want to try one on the cheaper side, I just got my wife a 3pc Black Hunter right from the Mandarin Duck site for just over 180 bucks Canadian. I've read tones of rave reviews one here and TG but figured I'd see for myself, and I'm super impressed. I can draw it to 29.5" with out it stacking and it's quick and quiet! The finishing is better then lots of 500 dollar bows. Nice enough that my brother took 10 sots with it and is selling his two longbows and ordering one with two sets of limbs, and I'm considering one for myself as well.

I second the Sarrels Blueridge S/R. Good bowyer and prices. Very popular around my neck of the woods.

I also like the Cari-bow Silver Fox by Abe Penner. Hard to beat Abe's bows for performance and looks.

Dick Boss Of Boss Bows makes a small handle 3 piece longbow. It is very much like the Prong Horn. I have had one for a few years and I like it a lot. I think RMSG have some on there web site.

Was never fond of them, especially the rear mounted limbs like a Habu, Widow, etc but I picked up a Hill Country Bobcat and it's definitely growing on me. The looks and the shooting!

Dale dye or thunderhorn

I was under the impression Dale Dye didn't make a longbow???

BF, you sound like a wise man with your slim comment. If you think you need a 'fat' grip because you have large hands read 'Archery Anatomy'.

With slim in mind and having to guess what??? Drop down in poundage, I ordered a Border Raptor. It's being build with a grip as close as possible to a Border ILF Tempest. Should have it next month.

I shot the Timberhawk also and loved it. I’m going to get one.
