Trying to find out if anybody has any experience with the Black Eagle Instinct shafts? These are there micro diameter shafts and weigh 9.4 grains per inch. I would think that they would be strong and robust as their standard diameter shafts are 9.2 grains per inch. These micro diameter shafts also require the outsert. It looks like it is 100 grain and made from stainless steel. I like that better than aluminum. Any first-hand experience would be great on Arrow fight and durability. I also like the fact that they come in 34 in lengths as my draw is 31 and 3/4 inches.

Remember that they will change the tune of your bow. The micro diameter shaft will be closer to center (moving the arrow point to the right for a right handed shooter) making you think they are weak.

So keep that in mind.

You will definitely gain more penetration with the smaller diameter shafts. I just switched to the instincts myself and absolutely love the way they fly.

The Instincts have been on the market for over a year, and lots of guys are shooting them. I don't shoot them, but I did shoot them. I prefer Element Archery's Storm or Fire and Ice over them.

And as far as half out inserts, Firenock makes aluminum, steel and titanium half outs that will fit. Great products that strengthen the front of the shaft. Victory Archery's RIP half outs will fit also.

I shoot the Deep Impact arrows and they are very durable. Fire nock aluminum outserts are very nice and I use those even though the arrows come with their own. Fire Nocks are a tad shorter.

I have some. Fine shafts no doubt.

No durability issues on my end.

Something to consider is that the replacement outserts are a little expensive, and as previously mentioned your tune will change as they are micros.

You will need a little sandpaper to rough up the shaft before gluing the outserts on.

Thanks for all the input guys. I also appreciate the ideas on the different outsert as well.

Looking at the 400 spine but going to see if the will do a test kit for me as I will be setting up a new bow that I do not yet have.

I shot one yesterday, at a trad shoot,,,, they were being sold at a table,,,,, very nice arrow, the spine was right but they would not fly off of my Black Hunter that well, I think because the way, the shelf is cut on that particular bow,,,,,

but it was a nice arrow, that is for sure
