Always wanted an Osage self bow. I have made plenty from white woods, but my one attempt with Osage was a major fail!

Brad would know better what was on the back, looks painted to me, some southwest, native flora and fauna primitive scenery..very beautiful.

I couldn't own something like that, George. Too pretty. I would be afraid to take it out and shoot it. Me and my clumsiness would mess it up the first time out the door.

Once the rain lets up I'll get out with it. Right now we are in the presence of a monsoon of sorts....well needed by the way. Brad made it to shoot, so it will be used.

It's a single loop string Craig that looks to be timer-hitched on the lower limb. I may have to adjust it a hair, but it shoots very well so far. Yes...very quiet. Brad calls for a 5 3/4" brace.

When I joined the LW back in 97 or 98 there was a thread on one of Brad Smiths personal bows and the artwork on the back was just incredible! I would suppose this to be the same Brad Smith? That bow is incredible George! Enjoy!

I wanted to add,, it was a pleasure and honor to make the bow for George,, and hope it brings him much shooting pleasure and meat for the table as well,, his constant help and advice for those here has been much appreciated and respected over the years,, and I wish him well in all aspects of his life,, especially his archery,, hoping the arrow always flies true for him ,,, :)
