Brad makes a great selfbow! What's on the back?

From: Pa Steve
Date: 14-Apr-18

Nice. Simplicity at it's finest. I was wondering about the back too. Is it dyed or stained?

From: SB
Date: 14-Apr-18

Always wanted an Osage self bow. I have made plenty from white woods, but my one attempt with Osage was a major fail!

From: George D. Stout Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 14-Apr-18

Brad would know better what was on the back, looks painted to me, some southwest, native flora and fauna primitive scenery..very beautiful.

From: Old School Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

Very nice

From: Knifeguy
Date: 14-Apr-18

Nice! George, that's a "head turner"! Hope you get the chance to take it to a 3D shoot.

Date: 14-Apr-18

Brad is also quite the accomplished artist , not only with self bows, but with oil paintings as well.

From: RonG

That is one to be proud of, beautiful work and I bet it shoots as well as it looks. Congratulations on your new Osage George.

From: unhinged
Date: 16-Apr-18

Thats a beauty. Almost a "Hippy" Bow, you might have to wear paisley camo, while shooting that one.

From: Bill Rickvalsky
Date: 16-Apr-18

I couldn't own something like that, George. Too pretty. I would be afraid to take it out and shoot it. Me and my clumsiness would mess it up the first time out the door.

From: George D. Stout Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 16-Apr-18

Once the rain lets up I'll get out with it. Right now we are in the presence of a monsoon of sorts....well needed by the way. Brad made it to shoot, so it will be used.

From: monkeyball
Date: 16-Apr-18

George, I bet that bow is super quiet even without those fuzzy Chipmunk tails on that string. A beautiful bow for sure.

Good Shooting->->->->Craig

From: George D. Stout Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 16-Apr-18

It's a single loop string Craig that looks to be timer-hitched on the lower limb. I may have to adjust it a hair, but it shoots very well so far. Yes...very quiet. Brad calls for a 5 3/4" brace.

From: Riverwolf
Date: 16-Apr-18

Nothing like the looks of a osage bow ...That is a beauty my friend.

From: cobra
Date: 16-Apr-18

Cool Camo too.

From: MStyles

The primitive artwork on the back of the bow makes it unique, very cool George, looks like it will be fun!

From: DaleHajas

When I joined the LW back in 97 or 98 there was a thread on one of Brad Smiths personal bows and the artwork on the back was just incredible! I would suppose this to be the same Brad Smith? That bow is incredible George! Enjoy!

Nice bow for sure. Arvin
