Dave Johnson said he's spraying the finish on my new ASL bow. 69 inch 57 @ 29.5. I asked for red glass on the belly with a black glass on the back. I thought about doing red back with his standard white belly. Kind of chickened out at the end. My buddy says the birds really raise hell when they see the red glass. I'm pretty darned excited about it.

I am not a big fan of red in general but something about it is really sharp looking on bows.Post a pic when you get it! Bodyman that bow looks sharp!

It has it's moments. I made this one about 15 years back.

Thanks for the replies and photos gentlemen , beautiful bows. I'm always amazed at the talent displayed when any topic is mentioned. Bows, arrows, strings, knives, leather work, strap on quivers, it matters not, several someones always post items built in their garages that are phenomenal. I will send photos when she arrives.

No I really like the red as many of you know I have a Rose oaks Heritage that badder than bad that was made for me red glass.

Maybe ya need to get used to it a little shock to you. I for one love it though.

The red/black combo looks cool on an ASL. Post pics when you get your bow. Jeff, love that reverse handle... Very nice!!

Man, I've told a whopper and really didn't mean to. Dave sent my bow. Beautiful piece of Myrtle with a pink tint to the cedar. Gorgeous, I think, but black and white glass. We had discussed this color first with a second discussion about the red glass. I tried to embed photo yesterday, but it didn't post. I'll try again with my cell phone. I'm very pleased with the bow and red coming on the next one for sure. If the wife gets upset with another bow purchase, I came blame it on Dave.

I got to see it last night in person. Really really nice bow. The cedar lams are very cool. And Gary shot that thing like he'd been shooting it his whole life!

Gary, sounds like a plan. I think that is one heck of a nice bow, enjoy.

I am overwhelmed. It shoots as good as it looks. I've got a couple hundred arrows through it now and it hits where I look and point quickly. That is just what the doctor ordered in an ASL. Dave is a fine fellow, a real gentleman and the kind of guy you want to buy a bow from. I fell in love with the cedar bows when I bought a used 50 @ 28 Johnson from the buy and sell here. I know every archer falls in love with their new bow and I'm certainly no different or any better judge of a bow than most. BUT this one is special and I'm gonna enjoy it.

I'll send the pics on the red one that started this topic when it gets made. Until then I'll suffer along with this one.
