For people that use portable blinds, Are turkeys spooked by the open windows with the screens down?

Looks like you've already called in a turkey.

From: grizz

Mpdh , I've had a lot of birds from 5 to 10 yrds and never had one spook. They just stare and act really curious.

From: Jim Keller
Date: 05-Apr-18

Blinds mean nothing to turkeys. They would roost on them if there was a branch coming out of the top.

From: RymanCat
Date: 06-Apr-18

Blinds themselves don't mean anything to a turkey but you don't want them seeing you move all around to make the shot on them or they will spook on you not the blind. They do come back if spooked I found but not all the time.

I have shot at birds missed and had 2nd shots. I figured the 2nd shot better arrow him cause might not get a 3rd shot.LOL

Yes still around if you want to call it that. Not able to shoot or hunt. Driving a little but still in many aspects very challenged yet. See neurologist this afternoon. Fell again yesterday and again this morning. I have to check BP to see where at find out why its going low again it seems. They have me on 1/4 BP med and it still seems lower this morning.

I wish I could hunt the turkeys this spring but its doubtful so far.

Turkeys are weird they will almost roast on anything for that matter but try to pursue them and I don't care how many Hec's suits you have on they won't putt up with that and what you herd next is adios! Putt, Putt putt to you buddy boy.

From: Jim Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 06-Apr-18

Blinds don't bother them at all. With the windows open just don't let them see you move inside. If your blind is black inside wear all black and camoflage your face.

Mpdh, I'm not the one to advise, since my record on longbeards is so "sketchy" with a scattergun that I've never been able to divorce myself from mine. But I will say the resident traditional turkey slayer from my archery club seems to manage to tag a couple every spring and call up some for his buddies, too. He would say "no". His best advice....to heck with 5 yds., put the dekes at 5 feet!

Curious about your blind. You said you missed low because you shot thru the netting. Isn't the netting meant to be shot thru?
