Somehow I walked out of the house this morning without my shooting glove, arm guard, and waist pack - that has a spare shooting tab in it. I had to improvise, so here is my patent pending arm guard. This arm guard is made of space age material (plastic), and is very inexpensive. My cost was 0.75 cents.

On the Turkey front, I called in three gobblers. I drew on the lead gobbler, but he saw me of course, and shied off. I managed to get a shot off, but missed wide. I can't blame the patent pending arm guard, so I am going to go with "I missed because I didn't have my shooting glove!" Yep, that's the reason, no other explanation. Lol

Oh yeah - on the way home, I realized that my turkey tags were in my waist pack as well, so it turns out that it was a good thing I missed the gobbler since my tags were at home.

The miss still hurts though. Lol

Cut the toe off your sock and slide it up your arm. Foot is going to getting cold anyway!

That's a good idea. I used the wrapper from my newspaper and 2 rubber bands.

Whatever it takes to get the job done. You called in a bird, got a shot and had a clean miss. I've had days that didn't end anywhere near that well.

This past bow season, I left the house without my coat, not once, but two different times. The first time I didn't even notice it until I'd walked a quarter of a mile to one of my blinds. I toughed it out, but it wasn't fun. The second time I caught it a couple hundred yards from the house and went back to get it. You're not alone. Good luck with the birds Rich and have fun.

Or, just keep an arm guard in your pack, and keep your pack in your vehicle. I have to do that myself or I'll forget something. Lucky for me is I never need an armguard, even with my heavier jacket...but I still keep one in my pack.

I keep a carbon striker in my truck just in case I'm Turkey hunting in the rain. You'd think I'd be smart enough to keep back up gloves, guards, etc. in my truck, but I guess I'm not that smart. I have at least one old glove in my garage, I guess I need to move it into my truck.

Cant the bow a little more on your wrist. That sux at least your having fun. I keep my arm guard and tab together that's the first thing that stays with bow in case. If I don't do that I can possibly forget as well myself.
