What can you all tell me about the Hawk bows sold on RMSGear website?

Anyone know who makes them?

With 24" limbs and 15" handle what length bow does that make?

I like the looks of them, anyone own one?

Thanks

The builder is Mike Beckwith out of Colorado. I had one around for awhile great grip nice shooting bow. I thought it was a great value for the money.. Ended up trading it back to RMSG for some Widow limbs I had to have. Hope Im remembering his name correctly . Call and talk with Tommy about the length .. Great guys to deal with.

I spoke to Tom Sr about these bows last week, beeman is correct on builders name, if I remember correctly the 19” riser and 24” or 26” limb was a 64” bow, I’d have to look at the RMS Gear site again, the riser and grip look to be very comfortable

I could be wrong, and PLEASE do not quote me on this, but...I think the bowyer for Hawk bows is no longer alive

I'm pretty sure your wrong, but I'll ask Mike next time I see him! He's getting ready to retire if he hasn't already, don't dilly dally buying one. Call rmsgear, they can answer your questions.

Anyone actually own one?

Mike is no longer making bows, and the risers and limbs Tom has is all there is. I've been talking to Tom about piecing together a bow from Hawk, and the 15" risers gain a bunch of weight over the 17" risers. Tom told me it was because of the shape and design. With the limbs that Tom has, on a 17" riser the bow will be around 62", and 60" with the 15" risers.

I was told that the Hawks shoot very well, and are good performers, just not speed demons. Buddy from Poison Dart Bows is talking to Mike about some of his equipment. I've been talking to Buddy about the Ramparts as well.

Made a mistake---the bowyer that I read about from RMS Gear that had passed on was John Gottschalk of Rampart Bows, not the gentleman from Hawk bows. Sorry for the confusion, God and Christ Bless

Hello, I am Michael Beckwith’s grandson. l regret to inform anyone reading this thread that After a long battle against cancer he passed on April 30th. RMSG has several risers and even more limbs that he made, any others are obviously either owned by individuals or are family property. For anyone still looking to shoot a Hawk I’m sure you’ll find them. for anyone currently shooting one thank you for supporting my grandfather by buying his bows he enjoyed making them and used a lot of his time and energy to make them even during his battle with cancer he was inside his shop working on arrows, risers, and limbs.

Again thank you to anyone who has bought or praised my grandfathers bows.

Here is the obituary

Recurve Shooter - Sorry to hear about your g'father's passing - I had the pleasure of meeting him once several years ago at RMSGear - he was very generous w/ his time and gave me several pointers that I continue to find very useful.

Kelly - give Tom Sr. a call and ask him to recommend a bow for you.

Very sorry to hear of your loss, Kiran. I use to admire your grandfather's bows on RMSG and I always wanted one. I thought they were very cool, innovative, and unique. May your grandfather rest in peace and may his memory always warm your heart.
