Opening day here tomorrow morning. Weather people are calling for rain around 2:00 am, with a supposedly rain free daybreak. Cloudy before turning crappy by lunch with potential dangerous (high winds, hail, tornados) by mid/late afternoon. Was planning on hunting the morning and then heading to work by 11:00 or so, but am thinking of putting it off until Wednesday now. I can't remember the last time I missed opening day, but I'm just not that fired up about hunting in crappy weather.
On the other hand, just like Christmas, opening day only comes once a year...

Turkeys and trout are both still a month away in Minnesota. Although I did step out the door and start practicing this evening. After shooting Genesis bows with the kids all winter, it felt good to bend the limbs on my hunting bow again! Good luck to all you early birds!

As usual, the weathermans timing was off. Woke to high wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. Looks like I'll wait until tomorrow.

I see more turkeys feeding in fields during rain while I'm driving then at any other time, so don't discount wet weather.

I'm not opposed to turkey hunting in the rain, and I am aware that turkeys like fields when its raining, but I'm not hunting in T-storms. lol
Crazy spring weather here. 75 F and nasty here today, and forecasted to be near freezing tomorrow morning and sunny.

Clydebow a thunderstorm is prob the best ever time to hunt. Maybe not exactly in it. Soon as it ends all heck breaks loose cause the thunder fired em up. I high five myself so to speak if I’m gonna go and it’s thundering right before. Be safe but try it.

Second day of spring - but I almost froze this morning. 39F/40F and very windy - and I wasn't dressed for it.

I had two Gobblers gobbling within 100 yards of me this morning. I heard them fly down, but that was the last I ever heard of them. I moved a couple of hours later and saw a turkey way back in this stuff - which I cant hunt. It was making tracks for somewhere else and paid me no mind. Going to try it again Friday morning.
