Alabama Society of Traditional Bowmen (ASTB) is having our annual Children’s Hospital charity shoot April 21 & 22 at the historic Brierfield Ironworks state park in Brierfield, Alabama. A great shoot for a great cause!

I believe that my twins and I will be there, looking forward to it. Anyone know if there will be any folks selling bow staves out there? Or any vendors at all for that matter?

Last time, there were only 2 vendors. Probably because of the rainy forecast. Normally there are several vendors setup.

I have my camper ready to go but had to have a cyst removed from my chest today and the doc said no bow shooting for 7 to 10 days because of the stitching, dang! I had actually been shooting and practicing for this tournament.

sidmand what kind of wood stave are you looking for? I’ll put the word out

nothing in particular, I have access to a lot of wood but nothing that is seasoned. I could use something seasoned to make a hunting bow this year. I have one more stick of Osage but it looks like I will be using it for a giveaway bow for a friend, so I can't count on it being around come September.

There will be several vendors, and many interesting things for the auction. I have four groups of kids arrows made up, Danny has a bow for the auction. There will be batches of brownies and Dinner will be a GREAT taco bar!

had a great time all - great shoot! Kids loved it too. If anyone knows the name of the fella that got the knife I auctioned off, I will stand behind my offer of making a better sheath for it. The one that was on it was pretty crappy - I threw it together one evening from scraps so I could take the knife hunting with me.

Thanks to everyone who made the shoot this past weekend. Weather was great Saturday and good until about noon, but overall great time. We were able to generate a good bit of donation money to Children’s Hospital of Alabama from our auction on Saturday night. Thanks to all who helped put this shoot together, and thanks to all of those who came out to support this great cause!

Had a great time at this shoot and appreciate the giving spirit of so many! As so know by now my youngest grandson Lincoln had heart surgery this past Tuesday and was at Children’s hospital during the time of this shoot.

So the shoot had a special emphasis for me, thanks to all who make this happen!
