Rich, I have spent about a month at Lake Placid for the last 4 winters and haven't found one yet. On farther north I think there is one around Ocala and on the west coast around Tampa-St. Pete I think there are some.

I found an Archery Club while on vacation in the Venice/Sarasoda area. They had a 3d shoots scheduled and a target course set up. Compound and Trad shooters.

Traditional Bowhunters of Florida is a state-wide group that has shoots and gatherings throughout the state. Lots of good people in that group. Google their website for more info.

Daytona Archers in Daytona Beach. Flagler Gun and Archery Club in Bunnell. There is a public access range in St. Petersburg.

TBOF has a few shoots a year around the Ocala area. There is a group that did what they called the Long Hammock shoots on private property on Sundays. I hear they moved it south of Wildwood. Check out the Florida forum on TG and they will get you there.

Thanks Batman,

A lot of us individuals are members of the Traditional Bowhunters of Florida and have shoots in Ocala and several other places, we also get together and go Hog hunting also, if you live in Florida you will drive a lot, everything is spread out. Remember the song by Jerry Reed, Amos Moses......always hunt with someone, don't go into the swamps by yourself, there is enough dry land to hunt from, you will find someone to help you, not a problem.

You didn't say excactly where you are looking to go. Orlando is a very large city and there may be something there, I don't go there the traffic is too much.

Rich, the Traditional Bowhunters of Florida have a one day charity family type shoot just east of Ocala in January and a three day state shoot in early March. Their schedule is on the net. Very active bunch and those folks would know of any ranges etc.

TBOF 3 shoots per year. January Charity Shoot, March Spring Championship, and August Fall Rendezvous. Flagler Gun Club (Bunnell)sometimes holds a strictly Trad shoot as does Daytona Archers (Daytona Beach). Also, a gentleman also is trying to hold monthly trad shoots in Dunnellon. Lastly, Florida Bowhunters Council has added a Trad category (primitive, longbow, recurve are all grouped as Trad) to its Jamboree Labor Day weekend.
