Folks, the Howard Hill Southeastern Classic will be held again at Tannehill Historical State Park, in McCalla, AL, May 31, June 1, 2 & 3, 2018. As you can see, this year will be a four day event.

NOW, let me add that this year WILL NOT be my last year for the HH Classic. I hope to go several more years.

I will, however, be selling all of my McKenzie targets at the end of this event. Great chance to get some used targets at GREAT prices.

With that said, next year's "HOWARD HILL CLASSIC", not only a slight difference in the title, BUT, there will also be some MAJOR CHANGES!!!

I will be using Rinehart Targets, the winners plaques will have a beautiful new design, there will be "American Traditional Archer" designed belt buckles to go along with the 1st place winners plaques, AND, some OUTSTANDING SURPRISES, coming as well.

See y'all at this year's Howard Hill Southeastern Classic.

Looking forward to this shoot!!! Always a great time!

For those of you that made this year's Pre-Spring Arrow Fling, because of the rain on Saturday evening, I've carried LOTS of items I was going to raffle or auction over to the HH Classic.

These items, including three bows. One from Northern Mist, Big Jim's Bow co. and Bear archery donated a "Byron Ferguson Patriot".

These items and more will be used to help raise money for the Boy Scout Camp.

Terry Harris

From: THarris
Date: 03-Mar-18

Folks, give me some of your best ideas about how best to sell my targets.

Should I list them on a board and list the number they are on the course, then let those that want to do a silent bid on them, do so?

Should I just auction them off as they come in from the range on Sunday?

Whomever gets them will have to take them with them on Sunday.

I've even thought about the targets that someone gets, when the range shuts down, offer them help and let them get them out of the woods and go straight to their vehicle.

This year, since everyone will have four days of flinging arrows, I intend to shut the range down at 11 am so I may be able to help with this endeavor on targets.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Terry Harris

From: Sipsey River
Date: 03-Mar-18

Auction, I suggest you hang a paper on a clip board at each target if target is on the course. Let people sign the sheets with bids. When you pull the targets, bring them to the signup pavilion for five to ten minutes if anyone else wants to bid higher. People pick them up them and there.

From: THarris
Date: 04-Mar-18

Not a bad idea john, but if it happens to rain, I'd be scrambling to run out and get all the clip boards before all the pages were ruined.

The same principle could apply with the dry-erase board at the registration area.

Terry Harris

From: Sipsey River
Date: 04-Mar-18

That will work, but we both know it never rains for your event. I hope you are holding my "major award" from last weekend until I see you again!

From: THarris
Date: 04-Mar-18

Absolutely my friend. Are you going to Brierfield, I can bring it then. If not, I'll have them all at the HH Classic.

Terry

From: THarris
Date: 05-Mar-18

Don't forget, I'll still be serving some great southern Bar BQ for supper Saturday night.

Terry Harris

From: THarris
Date: 05-Mar-18

I'm thinking playing card raffle for the bows and raffle tickets through the weekend for all of the other great packages I'll have. Finish it all up on Saturday night and the final drawing will be for "The Tradition Lives On" signature bow.

And again, fishing, mt. bike riding, hiking, craft shops, historical sites and even church for Sunday services if you like.

Here's one of the "One Shot~One Kill" plaques Jerald made. He spent approximately 34 hours, hand crafting them. The wood he used was estimated to be 100 years old.

Those that won these plaques truly have unique awards made by this good gentleman.

Chase, you've obviously never been, all longbows, recurves and self bows can be used. You can pay $20.00 and shoot all day and you'd rather not turn in a score card, that's up to you.
