Has anyone tried making a reverse handle board bow, if so how did it workout?

Never have, but don't see why you couldn't. It's all about proper tillering.

I am going to say no. But I have been wrong before. I think it will split out. Arvin

The handle/riser section will pop off the back when you draw the bow.

What Pearl Drums said. Reverse handles are for laminated bows. They usually don't work well for self bows. You can sometimes get away with it, especially if you're doing edge grain, but it's not a good design feature.
You can achieve the same effect by inducing deflex. Mechanically, a reverse handle bow is the same as a reflex-deflex bow with deflex equal to handle depth.

Yep squirrel hunter that's what I thought. But the deflex will work. Arvin

Thanks, just curious. I'd be using smooth-on epoxy to attach the handle/riser section.

Jawge, how did you lash it on and did you use glue as well?

If you don't mind me asking. Buddy, what is your motivation for a reverse handle bow? Aesthetics?

I've just always wanted to try one, figured I may as well make it instead of buy one. If it doesn't work out as a board bow I can always make a laminated one.

I did it because the handle area was bending too much. I used serving three set in glue probably epoxy. Jawge

It shot ok. It is an ELB made from a red oak board. I didn't shoot it much. Jawge
