What do you guys like for a bow hunting outerlayer? I do t play in the rain a lot but I'm In the wind nearly all the time and I get out in the snow a fair amount as well. I also don't want something really bulky that will get in the way of the string but I also want something warm.

My main outer garment is more of a windbreak shell and not something for warmth, other than to keep the warmth in. My warming layers are mostly wool over polyester fleece. I like a heavy wool sweater under my outer cover. I have a windproof outer jacket that is also of quiet material. It's waterproof enough to stay out a while in the rain, but I don't hunt in heavy rain either. Plenty warm in temps down to teens.

One of the issues I see with a lot of windproof shells is that they are noisy or rip easily

Wooltimate pullover with wind block lining. Quiet and warm without the bulk. Some pretty good sales going on right now at Cabelas.

If your tree stand hunting, First Lite Woodbury jacket or the Sanctuary jacket when it’s real cold. There’s a lot of good information on YouTube about First Lite products.

Mine is neither noisy and it doesn't rip easily either. It's not an expensive jacket either....around $59.00 when I bought it. It's a Game Hyde make.

It has to stop wind and light rain while being quiet. Heavy rain, forget quiet.

I'm tall and slender ,so finding bowi hunting clothing has always been a pain!. I always had to buy XL for the sleeve length, but always ended up with bulky feeling cloths. Now all I were for 90 percent of my hunting is Kuiu. There guide jacket is awesome and does fine in light rain. Best part, it fits tall people.

Cabelas wool. Not much better, though browning does a soft fleece like goretex that is nice...

I have a great bowhunting coat from Skyline. I am not sure if they are available any more though. The coat is warm and quiet and there are actually ties in the sleeves to cinch the sleeves out of the way of your string.

Clothing made with "wolfhide or wolfskin" material from gray wolf woolens. Light, quiet even in cold, and windproof/water resistant. All in all just about the perfect material. Nice soft finish that doesn't reflect and doesn't catch burrs easily.
