Received my replacement 64 inch Super Kodiak today. Bear sent me a gloss black phenolic to replace my Grayling green. This bow is beautiful ! Have not strung it up yet but will in a little. Almost scared to LOL since that is when the one I sent back went south. Will keep you posted on how it shoots. The detail in this bow is way better than the other bow. I’m VERY happy with this bow. Will keep y’all posted.

Although I am not a fan of bowling ball risers.. That bow is a beauty!

The 68-69 models that that one is copying were in my opinion the best looking of the bunch. And I love the weight of that Phenolic riser! Don't be surprised if lines show up in the finish of the limbs though.....my originals have them, but they're still shooting after 50 yrs. Congrats on the upgrade!

Just came back in house from shooting it. Took it out to garage and shot a dozen arrows through it. Shoots great and still looks beautiful ! Now it’s time to get some tuning done. This is my first phenolic riser and the balance and feel of it is awesome.

You're probably going to need a string "upgrade"!

nice looking bow

SB, yes the bow definitely needs a string up grade. I think I already have one. Just have to look through my strings and see what I have.

The hole thing took five and half weeks from the time they received the bow to the time it was back in my hand. I will admit in the beginning I was frustrated. I must say that Bear Archery stepped up and took care of me and replaced the bow I sent them with a more expensive and much nicer bow. Now that it is over I must say I am Very pleased with Bear and it was worth the wait . So Thank You Bear !

Great for you! And good on Bear for making it right with you and then some. This is good press for them. I hope it gets as much attention as the problem thread.

I am very glad you now have a bow that you like! Really hope it stays that way. My saga on the other hand is still ongoing.

That's a really nice looking bow. Good luck with it. Glad to hear Bear made good on a defective bow. A company that turns out that many bows is bound to issue a few that have defects. Good for them replacing it with a more expensive model. It appears you're happy with your new bow and that's great customer service in my book. I like that phenolic in the handle.

I am liking the phenolic. It feels a lot different from my other Super Kodiak. Both are great but like the phenolic better.

Gorgeous! Definitely a looker, but I'm sure it will be a great shooter also!

He bought a new old stock bow no one can explain why it was ever sold...then complained online long enough to get a brand new better bow.

I was being sarcastic Shawn.

No one can explain where these "new" grayling greens came from they are obviously flawed bows that should have never been sold I bet Bear wonders how too.

So,yeah he made a killin'

From: 4nolz@work

I think we agree the bow should have never been sold Shawn. If you never own another Bear bow I don't care.I personally would never buy another without handling it first.Thats why I did not order a new limited edition takedown-wait until one of THOSE is a lemon and watch the internet explode.

And I'm not criticizing Barber for buying the bow or demanding satisfaction the fact remains those bows Fred would have saved in half.

From: sheepdogreno

Nolz you should see one of the limited edition takedowns a guy posted to a bear fb page. A disgusting display of streaked glass and limbs that weren't straight! I'm a huge bear fan but some of these examples are disheartening

From: PECO
Date: 22-Feb-18

So sad they can't even get a limited edition right. Kind of shuts down the defense of they make so many bows that a few bad ones will get through.

From: 4nolz@work
Date: 22-Feb-18

I have not heard or seen a LE that wasnt ok? On the bear collectors page?

I just want to examine and handle first nowadays

From: GLF
Date: 22-Feb-18

Examination might help some but in my case the bow was perfect looking. I guess they got some bad phenolic. So my waiting time was for them to get more in is what I was eventually told. They started making them again 3 or 4 weeks ago.
