I saw a post yesterday of an impromptu turkey target made from a one gallon plastic jug. I immediately thought 'I've got a jug like that'. So, with some duct tape and fleece scraps I had on hand, I spent about half an hour wrapping one up. The photo is the first shot at 15 yards from a sitting position. The tom is starting to look like a bass lure to me.

You are invited to post pictures of your home- made targets here. Happy shooting.

That was a good shot on that old boss beard! It could double as a decoy come turkey season. I make "ugly" targets all of the time, hey it gets the job done and saves a ton of money, mine are not quite as fancy as yours though! Good shooting,Dave

Nice turkey decoy Gray Goose Shaft.Don't have a picture but my target is a Turkey decoy that was purchased from Wall-Mart. It was too big-shiny & the eyes didn't look right. So I stuffed the head with paper and a little great stuff from Home Depot.I did the same to the body but with a lot more great stuff.Next I placed a stake in the center.Let the great stuff dry cut some excess that expanded.Place it in the ground and blocked the tail with 2 rods or old arrow shafts. The rods stop it from spinning like a top and works good with target tips and 2 bladed Bear or Zwicky broadheads.

Bring it on! You can't shame me into building another 3-D target. I may stick to shooting little paper dots and paper silhouettes of deer lungs. Well, at least until I can get outside again to shoot those 122 cm (4') diameter targets of the York Rounds. AKA, 'The Prince's Colors' of 1787.
