I had an elevated sharp shooter plastic rest on this old Hoyt which mounts through the plunger hole however I didn't care for the arrow being that high. I could put a stick on rest at a lower location but the riser is cut a pretty good way past center and I need it to stick out a little further basically to center. I just need to do that because of the spined arrows I have right now, they are too weak otherwise. All my bows are about the same poundage and I tuned them to the arrows I have.
I would like to shoot this bow off the shelf, it feels better on the shot and I'm just used to it. You can see in the pic that I put a couple of pieces of thick felt for the strike plate which brings it to center. This works but it's not ideal for making small adjustments and I just don't like the way it looks, but it does work.
Has anyone made an adjustable metal strike plate that can be threaded into the plunger hole and moved in and out? Maybe something that goes all the way down to the shelf and then you could put a piece of leather on it. There maybe something like that already sold but I have never seen one other than an item I saw in 1980s Bear catalogs for some compounds which looked like it was made for a stick on rest. Or maybe another suggestion?

A simple bolt and a couple of nuts with a piece of felt on the end of the bolt makes a perfectly functional and completely adjustable plunger for the side plate.

I have done something similar.
I buy Hoyt Super Rests by the 1/2 dozen. Each comes with a thick double sided sticky pad. I dont usually use those, only the thin one. So i built up 2 of those and one thin one and it was perfect centershot.

I have a Morrison riser with dual holes. I put two set screws into it, then cover the protruding end with sticky-backeed Velcro.
Screws are 5/16-24 thread, 5/16" long. Nothing sticks out the off side of the bow. You have to remove the second -locking- set screw to adjust the one that sticks out, then screw it back in place, but once adjusted the system is solid and hardly noticeable.

The Morrison riser has that elevating 'taper' built in so I simply use a piece of 'rug' rest on the shelf. The side 'bulge' is controllable as described above.

Grind the head thin on a bolt and thread it into the hole. I will post pictures later.

I should have added that when I do this I use a set screw from the opposite side of the riser to make sure the bolt does not move.

Dave Sosa did this with the Dalaa's, and now the guys from Trad Geek over on Facebook has a system that looks like a berger button.

You mean a strike plate like this. The rest part is too high for your liking, but it can be lowered. Dan Decker made this one. PM me if you want his contact info.

The TACs have a vertical double bolt system so you can just shoot a berger off the shelf. They may have been the first to do that, not sure. I have to say I am less inclined to believe that the shelf is really a great idea with the way archery is headed.
The NAP Centerest with the flipper cut off is a pretty good substitute.

If you have room to run a second bolt hole below the one that comes on your bow, then you could just drill and tap that on your riser.
If you have to offset it, then you run into various issues like whether the position is ideal and whether you are carving too much out of your riser.

Just get a springy rest and remove the screw that holds the rest to the mount. Then use a thin piece of plastic or steel whatever size you want and screw it to the mount that stews into the button hole.

GLF thats a good idea. Been playing around with it today. I had an old plunger and part of one of those old peep sights with the rubber hose.

Ill try it out later once the glue sets. Seems sturdy and it can be adjusted in and out.

Shakespeare had a similar setup on their late 60's Golden Eagle bows that were designed by Phil Grable and Ernie Root. Surely nothing new here but it does make for a good windage adjustment on bows cut past center. Prior to the Berger Button being widely used, the adjustable arrow plate was available and used, either with a stick on rest or as just a windage adjustment.

Did a little shooting and it worked out. One unintended plus was that the plastic plate just happened to be the same size as a stick on rest. So if i turn it sideways i can use those as well if decide different. Thanks everyone!
