Curious if anyone has experience with Sleeping Indian wool items. I have talked to King of the mountain as well but I’m sure they are both good. They are certainly expensive!

I have a Sleeping Indian Northwoods hat that Compton Traditional Bowhunters is currently selling and I love it. It's very well made and very warm.

I have a Sleeping Indian hooded pullover with wind liner. Very well made and durable but a little bulky/heavy for the warmth. Use mostly for stand sit. It is often very dusty where I hunt. I clean at the end of the season in a sink with baking soda, rinse with a hose, and air dry.

They're going to have to change their name to Sleeping Native American.

I have 5-6 pieces of SI and love them for cold weather hunting. Also have 4 pieces of KOM (3 shirts 1 coat). Had a pair of KOM pants but they fell apart on first hunt. Took two months for them to be repaired. Have visited SI factory in Troy, Mt several times. First class operation that will stand behind their product. They have a 25% off sale couple times a year, get on their e-mail list. Mike

I have SI from when Ted started the business. I wouldn't swear to it, but I think I have the first bibs he ever sold. Also their shirt and heaviest jacket (very warm I hardly ever wear it). The shirt and bibs I've use for over 20 years (maybe 30) a lot. Best and cheapest camo I ever bought. I say cheapest because in the long run nothing lasts like it.
I have a hunting partner that also had trouble with a pair of King pants.

I ordered a vest from them at Harrisburg three shows ago. Took a long time to get but it is very nicely made and super warm. I won't go into details but the guy I dealt with made some promises he didn't keep but I can't complain about the quality.

I never like the sleeper cloths although never owned them because i didn't like the square lines or sowing how they were made. I looked at several times and said nope won't buy any.
Now I have over 5,000.00 in KOM cloths and as i got older they are a little to warm for me but glad I had them on this past season several times.
The key to either of these wools are the under garments you wear to create the vapor barrier or you will freeze in them with cotton under garmets.

If you want to buy one of their items call Greg at the Troy plant. He's the one who will have it made at that location. Otherwise, you will be routed through Texas where the CEO lives. Everything is made and shipped from Troy. Cell # 208-597-1682

Wow was the natives disrespected by calling the co. Sleeping Indian?
I never had any issues with any KOM cloths and guess I have had mine 30 years now some of the cloths.
If i had any trouble or needed any sowing I would use a girl i know to fix them a Russian lady whose great she just did some alterations for me that came out great.
I would never send back to any factory this way i can get what I needed on a local level and not have to worry about my cloths.

I bought a Queen size blanket from Ted Ranck, years ago. Made a lined Mountain Parka with it. It's warmer than my down jacket, but weighs 3 times as much. I wanted some KOM fabric, but he wanted $100yd or something absurd for it. Got the blanket on sale for $75. Sleeping Indian would not sell any fabric, and was not happy with me doing what I did. I get to think about Ted couple times a year when it gets real cold.

Thanks for the great feedback, I’m excited thinking about getting some of their stuff. I’ll get on that email list and keep Greg’s number handy. Thanks y’all!
