Thanks Central Wisconsin Deer and Hunting Expo

Rothschild, Wisconsin was certainly cold last weekend but the crowds were warm and friendly. Mike Michalak was a great MC and Heather Knight from Pope and Young tossed targets for me. It was a historic weekend because we ended every single show with a first shot on either the baby aspirin or mustard seeds. At One of Saturday’s shows I hit 2/3 so they let that count as a first shot since we nailed the two pills and one barely missed. I shoot a second shot and missed and the third got all three.

Met so many nice folks and enjoyed the show very much. It was very cold and three of my flights were canceled and I ended up leaving my home at 3:15am Friday, driving an hour and a half to Austin, Texas and flying to Minneapolis. There I rented a car and drove 200 miles to the Central Wisconsin Airport, turned in the car and caught a ride with the hotel shuttle. I had media Scheduled for 3pm and I walked in at 2:45pm! Here’s that interview: http://www.waow.com/story/37473571/2018/02/Friday/ar chery-superstar-stops-in-central-wisconsin

I did the 6:30 show that evening and spoke at an 8pm vendor cocktail party. It was a long day but I love my job. I neglected to mention UPS shipping had accidentally knocked my rest off the main bow so all these shows were done with my #2 backup bow!

I’ll be back Wisconsin. Y’all were great, thank you. I must admit it was good to get back to Texas and warmer weather.

Would have been nice if the woman announcer would have been smart enough to know you were shooting a recurve and not a cross bow. She said it two or three times.

The guy that ran the camera and did the interview was cool. The news announcer wasn’t at the show and I didn’t meet her. The lady in the photo above is Heather from Pope and Young. She’s a bowhunter and has taken some good game.

Often times the news will make mistakes or even call me a “trick shooter”, that term discounts the hours and hours of practice. If there was a trick I’d never miss.

If they have the money I have the time. Haha

I did do a Gala for the NFL Great Earl Campbell once. Great fun. Gave him a Hoyt bow too.

Glaring mistakes by the media are so common anymore I really don't expect anything less.

Hope to make it to Des Moines for your upcoming show.

You bet! Looking forward to it.

It was great meeting you, wish my partner wasn't in such a hurry, I feel we could have spent hours chatting. That's my ugly mug in the red jacket.

Charlie Y’all had horses and barn work to do. No problem. I had five quarter horses until recently so I know it’s a lot of work. But yeah, next time we can grab lunch and visit. Hope you liked the show.

Show was good, would rather it been outside with warmer weather. Loved your message.

Let me know next time you are up this way. There will always be barn chores waiting for me.

I'd like to know how anyone knows if you hit a mustard seed or not. I can't even see one at ten feet!

From: AspirinBuster

SB I bring five random spotters from the audience. I place two behind me on the right, two on the left and one over the throwers shoulder. That gives us a total of 14 eyes on the seeds.

By the way, leaving Texas for 3 degree weather was brutal. I have great respect for those that can endure that type of weather. It’s not for me, that’s for sure.

All kidding aside, I appreciate your message abiout getting kids outside. I try to do it as much as I can, but it is a challenge. That is why I take them camping because we do not use electronics on those trips. We don't use them at the archery club as well.

Thanks for your message about doing things as a family as well.

Sincere regards...

Frank, I hope they arrived in One piece.

Loosearrow, the scarf was to keep warm lol. Frank missed the 40+ weather by a couple days. I agree, the message is a good one...

No one will remember you hit the high score in Donky Kong or the most kills in Call of Duty.

Yeah, a retired three star general friend of mine was giving me a hard time about wearing a lady’s scarf..

Anytime the temp drops below about 40 I wear one. You’d be amazed how warm they keep you. My hat maker, Shorty, in Oklahoma City started me wearing them about 12 years ago.

The temp was around 3 degrees when I landed up there and it was brutally cold.

By the way, Shorty is the only female hat maker in the country. Amazing hats. This one is her “Whiskey” color.

Fred Bear used Harry the Hatter for his famous Borsolina hats.

My wife and I have always wanted to catch your show. I took her to OKC. Monday for another eye surgery called a Visco 360. She wanted to eat What A Burger. That may be as close as we get to your show. Taking her back Wednesday for the other eye. Going to have to check out your hat maker. That is all I wear unless hunting. Good luck

Gregfox- Shorty has a shop across the street from Cattleman’s in the stockyards at OKC. She moved up the street but is still across the street from Cattlemans. She is a premier hat maker, try to catch her at the shop. She does a lot of quarter horse shows but her staff is there during business hours when she is traveling. She’s a wonderful lady and one of a kind.

Tell them I sent you and to take care of you. She even made Nugent a hat awhile back, in camo. Once you wear one of her hats you’ll be hooked. My 2003 hat looks as good now as it did when it was new. It’s covered many a mile with me.

Even if I miss at my shows my hats always look good. Ha

And whataburger rocks! Love it.

My 85 year old mother in law, that lives with us now, really likes the whiskey hat. She is amazed that you shoot like that. She is an old Eastland, Texas, girl that also loves What A Burger. She believes you are a fine looking young man too. :)

Greyfox Knew a legally blind artist once that made beautiful photos. He would use small dots and drew the most beautiful art. I bought one of his drawings and he signed it, “HTTMH” and his name. When I questioned the initials, he said it stood for “His talent through my hands..”

Thank your mother in law for me and tell her that it’s His talent. Also, that Whiskey hat would make anyone look good. ??

Hug her for me..
