I'm taking off Old Broadheads from Old Broken arrows and found this one...it's a 3 Blade with an "H" stamped in it...2 small GlueVent holes on each side also...I don't think it's a Hi-Precision...maybe a Hornet?...Anyone Know?...Thanks...4finger

Yes, that is a Hi-Precision in the 11/32" ferrule size. The 5/16" ferrule size had "H 5" stamped on the ferrules. This also is the model with the 5 degree tapered ferrule and not the 7 degree taper.

HI-PRECISION Broadheads were manufactured by the Hi-Precision Co. of Orange City, Iowa, which produced some of the smallest and largest 3-blade broadheads during the early 1950's thru the 1960's

Also, looks like you have a small collection there....in the box in the background are Ben Pearson Switchblade, Hilbre, Satellite, Ben Pearson Deadhead, and maybe a MA-3L.

Early Hi-Precision. Actually they were and still are very good brodheads.

Anybody have experience with hunting deer with these- or this style blade? I would guess kinetic energy/momentum would be very good, but all that mass...does this usually punch right thru allowing for an ample bloodtrail?

Very similar to Bodkin points and Hills Hornets that have killed many a deer and more back in the day. The angle is not sharp and the will go through a whitetail pretty easily. Killed my first deer with one 53 years ago...complete penetration on an adult doe at about 30 couple yards and with a 40 pound bow. Only the feathers hanging up inside the skin kept it from passing through.

Curiosity got the best of me So I went digging...The Hill Hornet and that Smaller Hi-Precision really look a lot alike...found a few other heads in a couple boxes...one of these days I need to go thru and sort them all out...4finger
