I like that style Dan.

Real nice looking hat Dan.

Maybe in the future you could resurrect the old Jones style hat.

From: Frisky

This style looks better than old Jones for bowhunting. In my teens I bought a Jones hat and lost it in the woods when it came off my head and felt like I was still wearing it. I got home and the hat was gone. I bought another one and the same thing happened. Two hats gone in two days. So, I bought a bucket style and attached it to my coat with string and a safety pin. Got home, and my hat was hanging from the string, but it felt like I was wearing it, lol! Anyway, I've never lost another hat since those debacles. No way I'm gonna lose my Predator hat!

Looks good, but I think it could be an 1/8" bigger so it sits just a tad lower and closer to your ears.

From: Jim Keller

Looks good Dan. Is it a short brim?

From: J. Julian

You must be good at that, with the short brim they would be excellent. When they made caps in town here, they propped up the front so that bigger logos could put on them. Since the company changed hands, no caps are made locally any longer and they have no form fit, the ones from China are just a round dome shape, not nearly as nice fitting as the old days and they don't stay put in the wind as well.

That is my favorite style of hat expecially the short brimmed one's with the mesh face mask attached.

From: Andy Man
Date: 12-Feb-18

from the picture it looks like the brim is just long enough to shade just below the eyes?

From: scienceguy
Date: 12-Feb-18

I like your idea of a shorter brim, able to be turned up!

From: 2 bears
Date: 12-Feb-18

A definite Yea. I like the brim as is. It is not too long. Your bucket hats have 2" brims and they work just fine.>>>---> Ken

I like that style also, it looks like a Gendarme hat.

Looks great.

Looks Great!

looks great dan! did you ever try to make a jones style hat? seems like that was all we wore back in the 1960's here in iowa.

From: reddogge
Date: 12-Feb-18

I have an old Jones style hat if you'd like to borrow it for a pattern.

From: avoneye
Date: 12-Feb-18

Awesome I really like that style

From: Vtbow
Date: 12-Feb-18

I'll keep my eyes out at the thrift stores for some good chamois shirts for you!

From: ShadeHaven
Date: 12-Feb-18

Dan that's what i was pm'ing you about! Right on!

From: ShadeHaven
Date: 12-Feb-18

Also, that it's the hat I want, I would wear it backwards

From: tundrajumper
Date: 13-Feb-18

I think it would look a lot better on me.

From: dean
Date: 13-Feb-18

Jones hats can be just like a short brim cap, but with a padded flap. My wife says that the flap needs to make it ways onto the brim so that it can be made to stay put. I have a wool one that is a bit too big. it makes my voice go all Red Green when I wear it.

From: mangonboat
Date: 13-Feb-18

Dan, that's a great classic temperate zone hat design . I agree that a 1 1/2" brim and a fabric with substantial body would best suit that style. The original military use in Europe was intended to be suitable under a hood or scarf wrapped over it in severe cold or wind, a different utility than a hat with a brim all around to block sun.

Sound like you'd be rich if you find a way to mass produce 'em! Put me down for one if it ever gets that far, please.

From: RymanCat

Now theres an archers hat Dan with the short brim. Like pattern also.

Jim crumley trebark! Love it,my favorite camo!!!

From: tonto59
Date: 13-Feb-18

Very nice! old school is still cool!

From: charley
Date: 13-Feb-18

Now that's cool! Can't tell, is the first hat flat crowned like the second? I'd wear that second one all day everyday in olive with a little longer brim. Great job I really like that.

From: strugglesticks
Date: 13-Feb-18

Good idea. I have trouble finding decent hats with a short bill. I like that trebark too.

From: Curtiss Cardinal

Skookum!
