So I’m always looking at bows. Who isn’t right lol? Anyway I’m a huge fan of trying to keep my business local. So I figured it would be cool to compile a list of all of the awesome bowyers and custom arrow builders in my home state of Michigan. I’ve owned a northern just that I loved. But I know Steve is now in alabama. I’m aware of a few great ones like shrew bows, and great northern. Let’s hear em guys!

Although I understand he is now retired, Jim Reynolds made my Thunderstik III longbow. I love it. If you find a used one it is well worth considering.

Add Alan Rothaar to the list too, I grew up a few miles from his shop and went over there on occasion. I don't think he builds anymore, but I remember seeing some pretty nice bows.

I visited Jim Belcher’s shop in Brighton, Michigan to buy my first longbow. Solid guy, great bows! As mentioned above, currently using Michigan’s own Abowyer broadheads. Great thread here!

No, they traditional line, though now owned by the same company that owns the wheelie line, is still made in Washington.

Did some research after making previous post. John Maus of Glennie, Michigan produces outstanding bows under name of "Lone Wolf Custom bows". You cannot go wrong with one of John's bows. Check out his web site for all contact info.

Coe Archery recurves by Cliff Coe. Had a 2 Wolverine recurves back in the 70's that handled very well. Though they have not been produced for a few decades. Wish I would have kept the 60" at 52#.

I've shot a good share of the Michigan made bows and Mr. Jim Jones at Firefly makes one thee finest. He just isn't a big people person and let's Braveheart rep/sell his work. If I had to pick one Michigan glasser, it would be one of Jims static TDs.
