Guess you’d have to ask Larry about that, but it seems to me that if a guy can track down a single animal out of a herd so that he can shoot it... then finding it again after he’s got an arrow into it shouldn’t be any tougher. Besides - a knapped head would take how many hours to replace? That’s a serious incentive..

And IIRC, Larry killed about 300 black bears with a #35 kid’s bow. Don’t think he lost any of ‘em.

If you hunt, you will lose game. Some more than others, but you will on occasion lose game. Everyone who has hunted much knows this. No reflection on Larry or our ancestral hunters, he and they may be the very best at recovering animals, its just the reality of hunting.
