Why do you guys make feathers splicing so complicated!? I've been doing it for years by just cutting where I want this splice to be and just putting the two ends together. The velcro aspect of the quills hold the two pieces together and you can put them in your clamp. I put little dabs of glue where the slpice is.

You guys are dedicated to small details then. Or I'm just good at doing it my way because you can't really tell that they're two different quills.

Maybe others have better sight, I have clipped quills and also pulled the rachis and taking the time to pull the rachis from the quill just makes a cleaner product. Plenty of time to do it during long winters, i expect. To each his own, as neither way is wrong=just different

Yep, it looks better. It also keeps them as one, single stronger piece.

how do they hold up with repeated constant shooting ? i've never spliced feathers so was curious if they last as long as regular fletch.

I have spliced feathers like the OP and never had any issues. They are just as strong as a one piece and fly great.
