Just wondering where a person would buy the clearest glass for making a bow? I know you may pay extra, but it would be worth it to me.
Thank You

I'm extremely picky, and Mike Pyeatt at Rosewood Archery has been my preferred company to buy clear glass from for many years.
Mike has hand sorted clear glass from Gordons, and he also carries the new Bear Paw glass (which is excellent quality).
Many of Mike's customers are "top name" professional bowyers and there's a good reason for that.

I just got some bear paw clear from Rosewood and it looks very good. Laying it up in a bow is the proof but I'll say again, it looks very good. I'm going to use it over some dark veneers and see how it goes.

I just made a bow using the OMC “triple check, crystal clear.” glass. One of the pieces turned out so bad (streaks and cloudiness) that I’d be ashamed to let anyone see the bow. I’m not questioning OMCs effort, I just don’t think inspecting the glass before layup can reliably work. This is after several bad results from Bingham glass. After 27 years, I’m done with clear glass.

Don't give up on clear glass just yet.
Mike at The Rosewood Shop just informed us yesterday on Trad Archers that he's no longer selling Gordon's clear glass due to all of the quality issues he's had to deal with.
The new Bear Paw glass that he carries is crystal clear, so he's focusing on selling that product for those who want to use clear glass.
Several of us bowyers on the site have purchased it from him, and none have been disappointed. That's a tall order to fill because we're a picky crew.
Do yourself a favor and contact Mike to order some. You won't regret it. ;^)
It's also less expensive than Gordon's, so there's that too.

Took this off the form this weekend first of mine with the bear paw. It is much clearer than any other clear I have used. Very pleased with it.

What Big name companies are using Bear Paw products now? Black Widow, Stalker, Blacktail, Bob Lee, etc.? Good to know in case one wanted dark veneers on their dream bow ;)

I have had good luck with clear Gordon glass from Bingham Projects. The crystal clear Gordon I got from OMC was a pretty streaky batch, so stopped using it. The Clear Bearpaw from OMC is great. Put it over Claro Walnut Veneers and it looks good. I don't think it is possible to have a perfectly clear glass, as if there is nothing over the wood, considering it is made from strands.

The last clear glass I bought I purchased the clear glass from Kustom King. It is very clear. I'll post a picture of my daughters bow I put it on when I get the chance.

I have had severe issues with Gordon's clear for a number of years and being in Australia I cant send any back. A fellow bowyer recently bought a roll of Bearpaw clear in a 100 m roll. I just got couple strips from him to try and am impressed. I have had to junk a couple bows recently due to the crappy glass i have had and I have tried 4 different suppliers in past few years, most of whom are mentioned in prior posts here, including the "crystall clear' which was so bad it looked like corrugated iron .I am looking at bringing in my own from Bearpaw. It is just too hard to put everything into building a bow and then peeling back the tape to see a disaster. It has got so bad that I can hardly sleep the night that a bow is in my hotbox worrying about the outcome.
