You hear it all the time, "3 blade broadheads can't get shaving sharp." When someone tells you that, just smile and walk away. Sharpened 8 Grizzly instincts to shaving sharp in about 10 minutes with a Nicholson Handy File I bought at Home Depot for $8, and an ebay $1 crock stick.

Like near everything in life, it's not the product, but the guy using it.

If that gets old, you can use the hot melt ferule tite glue for waxing. (depends on your man-scaping needs)

The Instinct leads the pack of 3-blade broadheads in my opinion.

I agree! I use a file and ceramic stick on my vpa's and they shave also. I am trying some grizzly single bevels this year but haven't been able to put them to the test yet but I really like the look of the instincts

Last I checked they come in 175 and 200. I believe they are 3-1, I do know they zip through critters like they aren't there.

X2 what Biathlonman said.............

It would take a real man to slather on a big patch of Ferul-Tite. I know from getting the occassional hot drop on myself that... I ain't that Real.

I'll be leaving the waxing to others, I'll stick with my Grizzlies. Wife always fusses at me in the fall, says it looks like I have a strange disease with all the bald patches on my arms.

In my opinion, they're on the narrow side. When hunting deer with anything above the minimum poundage penetration is not an issue. THey should zip through. I'll take a 160 Snuffer, but my supply is running low. Anyone switch from Snuffers to Griz, PM me.

I’m looking for some 160 grain snuffers!

I've got plenty of snuffers I'd gladly swap for instincts. Instincts gives you 2 blade penetration with 3 blade blood on the ground. This little hog didn't like them at all!

I've always been able to get my woodmans and snuffer to shave with a just a file, I seem to go backwards when I try a ceramic or jewel stick on a head that already shaves. Is there a trick....do you make the same passes in the same direction as you do with the file?

Agree Biathionman well made, great steel and penetrate like crazy!!!! I check alignment on heads by spinning them on my palm or fingertip...not with these heads they poke right in!!! Im a little leary of that needle point on hard bone contact but they seem to have it reinforced pretty well....wish I had some pigs to "experiment" on ;)

texbow2, I use the crock stick just like I do the file, set across 2 blades at a time and push away. Still shaved hair on my arm after going through the pigs ribs/lungs.
