Red Ball was acquired by Lacrosse, not sure if they'd have a similar liner

Dan, what size foot are you treadin on? I have some wool felt liners, I think size 11 but I'll check. If they will work you can have them. They were out of Size 11 Sorrels.

I think Red Ball we’re old Sears boots. I had a pair a as a kid.

I had some Red Ball sneakers when I was a kid in the 50s.

I just bought a pair of Kamik boots with the liners, so you wear thick socks with these type boots?

Felt liners get wet from perspiration.

Those are almost identical to Lacrosse foam liners. The ones I bought were dark brown and work great.

I'n not familiar with pac boots like some of you fellas from up north are. I got my Kamik boots a half size up and they are comfortable but I dont think I can get a thick pair of socks on though.

I've always believed in having extra liners handy. As pointed out, they get sweat-soaked. A mid-day change of sox and liners is great to have in the pack on an all-day hunt.

The alternative is the 'vapor barrier' idea some hikers and mountaineers use. Basically, your skin wants to be a bit damp. So you wear a thin wool sock, then a barrier, then an oversock and boots. The barrier keeps the moisture close to the skin. The outer sock and boot liners stay dry.

I've tried it and it works but feels wierd walking. (I used bread wrappers.)

BTW, a pair of dry socks and a couple wrappers is a good 'emergency item' to have in your pack, even if you don't carry extra linbers.

Soaked boots? Dry socks in wrappers will get you out of the woods with your toes.

You should also dry your boots out every evening. You would not believe the amount of water that accumulates in those liners after a days hunt.

Guess I need to get an extra pair of liners.

Wiggy's makes a quilted sock that really keeps your feet warm. I sat out in 14deg. F for 3.5hrs in rubber boots. My feet were comfortable the entire time! Good luck!
